Our family stayed at the hotel for three nights. The grounds were more impressive than I had expected. I found the historical setting fascinating and very atmospheric. The pool was large, and when we were there, we were virtually the only people in it. The grounds were well kept, leaves and petals picked up almost as soon as they fell...

We stayed at Casa Santo Domingo for four nights during Semana Santa. The hotel is beautifully set amongst ruins of a convent. The attention to detail was amazing- flower arrangements that changed daily, multitudes of candles displayed at night, the gardens and ruins, the classical pianist in the courtyard, etc. Our kids loved the beautiful pool and exploring the ruins,...

We stayed here for only one night, but it was certainly memorable. The hotel is built on the grounds of a very old convent - and the architects maintained much of the old structure. Ancient walls can be found throughout the grounds, as well as statues and even an old crypt. There is a beautiful pool, a spa, a museum,...

This place is amazing! The grounds are so unique and pristine we felt like we were in another world. We stayed for 4 nights for an on site wedding and loved it. Every detail is attended to. The pool, rooms, nooks and crannies of the grounds and the breakfast buffet were all great. The only sub-optimal experience we had was...

This hotel has an amazing environment. From the ruins to the corridors of an ancient monastery I didn't want to leave. With opera or chanting on the speakers it feels peaceful everywhere on the grounds. The pool was great and rooms spacious and complete with a working fireplace. Loved it and will be back. Spa was great with hot rock...

We stayed in this hotel from March 6 through March 12 this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. This was my second stay in the hotel in the last 15 months, and frankly, one of the reasons I wanted to return to Antigua was that I could stay again in this fabulous and truly unique hotel. Last year I already wrote...

My wife planned this trip for our anniversary. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing, 5 stars, nothing compares. Our room had a balcony with a wonderful view of one of the volcanos. The room was designed in traditional colonial, but had every modern amenity, including a large jacuzzi tub in a seperate room. The old ruins incorporated into the hotel...

We stayed here in March 2014 on the recommendation of friends rave reviews. They didn't do Casa Santo Domingo justice. Luxurious rooms, attentive service and a first class restaurant in the midst of a centuries old monastery. Add to that the on site museums, the hilltop bar and restaurant and La Antigua, the UNESCO heritage site city and you really...

Casa Santo Domingo is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in. It's a piece of history, in the hearl of Antigua, Guatemala's colonial capital. Service was excellent, food delicious, staff was nice but with such a huge place to manage, not super friendly. Anyway, it was for a business trip and my only regret is that my...
