Our inn has nine suites and three double rooms. Just beyond the entrance, there is an inviting central garden and fountain surrounded by a veranda that is quintessential Antigua. Our restaurant is considered one of the finest in the country. Its reputation for "international cuisine with a twist" has made it a favorite with Guatemalans and international travelers alike. Many consider Meson Panza Verde to be the preferred destination for their stay in Beautiful Spanish Colonial Antigua, the land of eternal spring.

Our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect; close to anything you'd wish to walk to and not in the midst of anything noisy. We especially appreciated the attention to detail associated with some special requests; an in-room couples massage and chilled sparkling wine at our dinner table. It was all perfect!

I went for a few days, the room was super cool. Very authentic beautiful stuff everywhere. You can go up on the roof and view the city, there is a world class restaurant there. Everything is great. The kind of experience that improves your life.

I watched 2 seasons of Stranger Things, sitting in the candlelit rooms hot tub, which is in a room with a circular window with a view of Agua Volcano. At night a storm came through and Lightning hit the volcano many times, watching that show felt like something from neverending story I swear with that view behind it.

The restaurant is really good, if you eat there it will probably be a memory you keep for life. I had a fancy shmancy dinner there, but breakfast really shined.

I have friends and business partners in Antigua and one met me there for breakfast. He brought his daughter who went swimming in the small pool splashing water on people eating their food, it was hilarious. They had to ask us to contain the issue which we did. I loved it though, it made for a great memory.

We went to smoke on the roof, it was a really nice place to relax. There is a trippy cross on top.

I would stay in that room again for sure. And I would get breakfast there again. Dinner is bit too rich for my taste and I like adventuring so it may be a long time before I eat dinn dinns again there.

The room was huge. The shower head could have sprayed wider and more powerful, but it was not terrible. The mattress was ok. The best part was size of room and the way the hotel is designed. It's one of the best in the area. I have high standards, so keep this in mind and those that know, know and would agree with me. I would go back when I return to the area.

This is a nice quiet boutique hotel in beautiful Antigua. Disappointingly, we were given the room off the restaurant which had very little air and natural light and only a noisy fan to keep it cool.

If you decide to stay here I would recommend you request a room on the second level which come with beautiful balconies. We only ate breakfast here as we wanted to explore the town and make the most of our two nights.

I would not recommend booking tours through this hotel or drivers. We did a tour which involved the Pacaya volcano hike and an afternoon in a spa. The hike up the volcano was ok but the spa was very basic. It also cost us $360 before lunch for the two of us (sandwiches were included - but we did not want these). This is very expensive for something I would describe as below average and would not recommend. We also asked them to organise a driver to lake atiltan and the quote they gave us was $50 more than the quote we got off our next hotel.

If you are just looking for a base, I would recommend this hotel... but there are no amenities so you will need to spend all of your time away from it. I recommend eating in Freidas, cactus taco shop and getting a massage in the Antigua oasis.

We got a wonderful upgrade and had a gorgeous room for 6 nights. However our adult kids who arrived very late at night after many flight delays (1 am) were put into the WORST room in the hotel, room #2, which is literally in the middle of the dining room and TINY. They were too tired to do anything and the next day we were too busy to change or ask for a better room, then the hotel got filled so it was impossible. We did not find the front staff very helpful at all, and almost cried when they tried to charge us for a glass water bottle that got broken because the counter in the bathroom was so tiny it slipped off. Also please note the "pool" is FREEZING cold (never heated) and it's a long pool of water in the dining room. Its pretty non-functional, and their website should be very clear that this is NOT a "swimming pool" in any way. We chose this hotel because it claimed it had a pool so we were very unhappy to pay a more expensive hotel which does not have a real pool. Dinner was fabulous, but the included breakfast had exactly the same 3 options every day. We would not stay here again, unfortunately.

We spent a few days at the hotel for a family gathering over Thanksgiving. The hotel is beautiful. The daily breakfast included was not very inspired. We generally had good service and a good time.

However, one of the nights two people entered our daughter’s room during the night (at approximately 2 am). The hotel
said they reviewed their video footage and that it was one person (the night guard) who entered. Our daughter and her husband both saw two men.

Lastly, on the last morning of our stay, no one (4 rooms) had any hot water for showering.

These experiences and their lack of resolution or even nominal compensation for the inconveniences were not consistent with the cost and expected level of service.

Meson Panza Verde is many things. The rooms are palatial, generously furnished with beautiful antiques , fabrics and small perfect touches. The interior of the hotel is a courtyard with sculpture, vines, well spaced tables all curated in the best of taste

If Michelin were to go to Antigua it would award 3 stars for dinners. The food is superb- fresh seafood- tuna and especially snook ( sea bass) -the snook meunière is exquisite. Many good things in addition: fresh rolls with herbed curried butter and tapenade, tender squid in tomato pesto, and the desserts are are sumptuous. Pear mille feuille , and panna cotta. Breakfast is also wonderful especially tipico with refried beans fresh cheese, sautéed plantain, and spicy tomato sauce

The staff are genuine warm friendly and helpful. We do not speak Spanish but there are many who speak English.

This is a peaceful oasis in busy Antigua.

Absolutely a fantastic stay. The hotel itself is gorgeous and has so much character. The breakfast was wonderful and beautifully platted. The staff were kind and accommodating and really gracious with any requests.

We stayed in room 1 which has its own patio/veranda. The staff was willing to deliver our breakfast to us each morning and we ate in the comfort and privacy of our own space while enjoying the begin to the day. The waffles are AMAZING!

We would definitely return when visiting Antigua again.

On Saturday they have live music so they request you to book previously. I chatted to their WhatsApp and they confirmed my reservation and told me the fee per person was Q.35.00. Then on Saturday I chatted them again just to ask at what our the live music starts, they told me that price per person was Q.75.00 and that they didn’t had my reservations… left me waiting for two hours .. it was my mom’s birthday so I had (at least that’s what I thought) nice plans. After two hours they told me: if someone cancels we will squeeze you in.

Awful experience terrible service.. had to book in another restaurant and gladly my mom had a nice birthday in another restaurant.

Avoid this place!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and would recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone! The property is incredibly beautiful with greenery all around and lots of outdoor rooftop space with fantastic views of the mountains. It is located on a quiet street but still very close to all of the action of the main square. The dinner we enjoyed here was our best meal in Antigua and the complimentary breakfast was delicious as well. The concierge and entire staff was incredibly friendly. They helped us with anything we needed, including arranging a wonderful romance package with rose petals, champagne, candles and desert. It was perfect

We can arrange private transportation from the airport $40. Also, the Grand Suite is the only room that has an exterior view to Agua, the premiere volcanoe in Antigua. There are other room views that overlook patio gardens. However, we have three public rooftop terraces, all of which have great views.

does it have air conditioning?
Answer from Meson-Panza-Verde
Antigua, Guatemala1 contribution1 helpful vote
No, we do not have air conditioning. We are located in a mountain valley that is at 5,100 ft and it is rarely not hot enough to require air conditioning. Antigua is located in the land of eternal springtime. We do experience some rather cool nights and we have fireplaces in all of our guestrooms.
Answer from Meson-Panza-Verde
Antigua, Guatemala1 contribution1 helpful vote
Dear Guest, Yes, we can arrange a direct collective shuttle from MesĂłn Panza Verde to Xela. The shuttle will take to the main plaza at Xela. The price is $30.00 per person, per way. Is a trip of 4 hours approximate. They normally have at 5 am, 8 am and 3 pm but this may change by the season. We suggest Adrenalina Tours & Monte Verde Tours. If you wish a private transportation will cost $195.00 for 1 to 3 guests, any hour. I hope this help and see you soon.
