Marie and her son, Sergio, are warm hearted and welcoming. I have stayed with them many times throughout my travels to Guatemala and would never consider staying anywhere else in Antigua. Marie often invites me to join her as she visits Antigua's old market to search out the freshest vegetables and fruits, which she uses in the most delicious breakfasts.... More

Antigua is a magical place to stay and Marie & Sergio made it all the more enjoyable. Fabulous hosts and so welcoming of our family with 2 young kids. We appreciated Marie's time in giving us a quick tour of town to help us feel right at home. She was so generous with her time and we enjoyed her interesting... More

My husband and I just returned from Guatemala. We stayed at Casa Marie. The home is beautiful! Our room was spacious and filled with local art and books. There is a lovely courtyard with many flowering trees and plants. Marie is an intelligent and interesting woman with a vast knowledge of Guatemalan history which she will share with those who... My girlfriend and I stayed here last week for the last three nights of our trip. Marie is fantastic and very welcoming. The rooms are very large and spacious and she has the most beautiful garden. We spent our mornings in the garden having breakfast with Marie and chatting about what we were doing that day. She is very knowledgable... More

Marie Delattre and her son, Sergio, were wonderful hosts! They took me downtown to see the sights, helped me plan my visit, and Marie even used her personal connections to help me get a tour in a private, historic residence that wasn't open to the public. The house, formerly owned by Gore Vidal, is elegant: high ceilings, arched doors and... More

Marie,...ah....Marie! Not only did Marie bared with us, and the 50 emails we exchange before, but she helped us planned her trip and recommended a wonderful guide. In her place we felt at home in this magical garden and classy-tasty atmosphere. We can only highly recommend her place to anyone staying in Antigua.... and on top of it to anyone... More

We spent one night in Antigua with Marie and Sergio. The location is right in the center of town close to the central square and other main attractions. The house has a fantastic ambience and feel. The cool spacious rooms reek of colonial history and the local artifacts imbue an aura of a living museum. The interior garden is a... More

I have been staying at Casa Marie periodically since 2003. I do fieldwork in Guatemala, and always begin and end my time in that country with a stay at Casa Marie. The house is gorgeous, with an extraordinary garden, and artwork, textiles, and artifacts scattered throughout the building that will keep you distracted for hours. There is little better than...
