I had 4 nights at Hotel Slavija and loved it. Great price, room perfectly adequate (plenty of space, nice big shower). Superb location right behind the Temple of Jupiter, yet I didn't find it too noisy. I ate in the hotel's restaurant (Para di šoto) one night and had an excellent meal - and as a resident, I got 10% off. But my lasting memory will be the fantastic staff. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and Hotel Slavija's staff were by far the most helpful I can remember - an absolute pleasure. They made my stay in Split all the more enjoyable and they're a credit to the hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Slavija.
I’ll start by saying it’s not the best hotel if you are coming with a baby stroller as it’s got stairs at the entry. My kid walks but still needs the stroller so it was a bit of a headache The hotel couldn’t be better located in the center, next to all the historical sights, restaurants and small bars and 15 min walking to a sandy beach and if you’re into it- 5 min to the port side party bars and clubs. The hotel is cute and the staff is nice. However- if you’re a light to medium sleeper, you might need ear plugs. I’m a medium sleeper and kept waking up at 7am to some sound of wheels hitting stairs. I finally figured out it was the grabage collection in the area rolling the bins against the stone streets. Nothing the hotel could do of course. Breakfast is yummy, really the location can’t be beat. …

. We stayed here for one night to rest in bed after spending few weeks in camping sites. I was so happy when we arrived because this place is just beyond what my mind could accept. So we had a family room and in our room there way a wall from the 4th century, built at the same tame as the Palace, the wall is part of the Palace, the hotel is part of the Palace. Staff is so knowledgeable, they gave us really good info where to go and what to see. We definitely recommend this place for its amazing history, location in the city center and amazing staff.
Found this hotel recommended on trip advisor and it really was excellent. Well located, well appointed and great, friendly and very helpful staff on reception. We didn't get round to having evening meal there but the breakfasts were great - catered for whatever you want and the lady at breakfast was great too.
