Hotel Lapad's serene yet strategic location garners appreciation from many guests, nestled conveniently near beaches and the historic old town, with ample transportation options. While the ambiance of the hotel is generally well-regarded, combining modern amenities with inviting spaces like the pool area, there are hints that certain spaces could benefit from rejuvenation. The staff's friendly and efficient service is often highlighted, although a few guests have encountered slower service at the bar. Cleanliness is a strong point, though some suggest there's room for improvement. Room comfort is acknowledged, despite some comments on their size and amenities.

A lovely 3 night stay in hotel Lapad. We were bed and breakfast so only got to experience the breakfast which was good.

We arrived at 11am but could only check in until later as expected. The hotel staff were friendly and held our luggage as we went for a walk. Staff were always kind and friendly throughout out our stay.

Food:
It had a good variety of hot food options such as egg, bacon, sausages, bean, hash browns along with a fresh omelette station. The usual continental foods as well such as bread, pancakes, french bread, pastries, fruit and cereal. Always the same choices but still a decent variety. The coffee machine wasn’t great as it would only fill up half the cup of which was already small. (Recommendation especially during the summer months would be to have a free water fountain for guests).

Room:
Our room was spacious and we had a sea view balcony room (626). The balcony was really small but was enough for 2 chairs to sit outside and had sun for most of the day. The bed was comfy and great to have a fridge, kettle, hair dryer, safe, sofa and comfy bed all in the room. No iron unfortunately. There was a bottle of water in the first room and I think it would have been great to get 1 every morning after the cleaners clean your room.

Facilites:
The swimming pool was a decent size, although the water was cold when you first get in, it’s okay once you’re in it. There is around 20 sun loungers around the pool when we went (April). It would have been great to have more sun loungers available as on the first day they were all taken so couldn’t relax around the pool. There is no gym however there is an outdoor park 5 minute walk right of the hotel with a few outdoor gym equipment. Small bar by the pool and reception.

Location:
Location was very good as you are in a quiet area only a 25 minute drive from the airport (€30 by Uber). You are right opposite the Marina which has good views and also across the other side of the Marina is where cruises normally dock. The old town is a 40 minute walk away. Sunset beach is also only a 10-15 minute walk away. There are a couple restaurants within 10 minute walking distance as well as shops/supermarkets and cafes within 10 minutes of walking.

All in all value for money this is a great hotel. For value it is 5 stars but as expected it is a 4 * hotel which is expected in the facilities. A great place to stay for lovely views of the Marina in a quiet area whilst still being within a good distance of the old town and beach.

We were very impressed with the reception staff who made us feel very welcome. We arrived early so couldn't check in but we were shown a place where we could store our luggage and the receptionist made contact with the maid to find out how long the rooms would take. We went for a walk and when we returned we were shown to our room and the receptionist brought up our luggage. Rooms were very well equipped with a fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a bottle of water left on the dresser.
Pool area was nice but there was so much to see in Dubrovnik that we didn't spend much time there.
We only had a couple of minor issues with the hotel the food was excellent but seemed to take a long time to replenish, so it was sometimes a bit of a wait to get a full plate. The drinks in the bar are far from cheap but not far off the prices in the main town. However, we did find that if you ordered a liqueur some of the measures were very small depending on who was serving.
All in all we would have no hesitation in recommending the Lapid to friends and family.

We are just home from a week at hotel Lapad and honestly we were blown away and gutted that we've had to leave. We were checked in nice and early and the staff were efficient telling us meal times etc. Food was gorgeous from the continental breakfast to buffet dinner, there is something to eat for everyone from salads, vegetables, pasta, rice meat and fish options. Service in the restaurant was great too and a drinks menu is brought to you within a couple of minutes of being seated for your evening meal. They also clear away your table super quick as well.
The rooms are great, aircon, mini fridge, hairdryer, kettle. Bathroom was lovely with good water pressure. A waterfall shower, a smaller shower head and a decent sized bath. You can also drink the tap water!
We loved the location it's nice and quiet away from the main holiday street but only a 10-15 minute walk there and down to the beach. It looks out onto the gruz harbour which provides great access to boats to go touring the islands. Local buses into the old town are a less than 10 minute walk away or you can get an uber for 50 kuna (£5).
We spent most nights drinking in the hotel bar because the cocktails are exquisite and cheaper than a lot of the bars nearby. The evening entertainment was quite classy and chilled compared to other holiday destinations.
The pool is fairly small but we had no trouble getting a sunbed in september and I never saw more than 6 people in the pool at a time, quite often we had it to ourselves.
This hotel is really beautiful and the staff are a credit to it. We had cleaners knocking on our doors asking if we needed clean towels or more milk regularly as we didn't have them in to turn the room over everyday through choice but this is a personal preference. The cleaners really are lovely people and add to the luxury holiday feel. Really all the staff were pleasant and have very good English. We can't wait to come back to this gorgeous place!
Thank you hotel Lapad for being the best home from home for a week x

Where do I begin...
The hotel is in an ideal area of Dubrovnik; within walking distance of numerous great restaurants, the perfect location to catch many of the Trip Advisor boat tours, and there is even shopping less than a mile away. The included breakfast buffet is also a positive - plenty of choices and in a large room with a great view of the pool area. I also have included a picture of a simply delicious dessert from their Room Service menu.
Now for the other side of the coin:
1. Air conditioning is almost non-existent in the rooms. Although they tried to get it up to speed - (replaced the filter, and recommended we leave the bathroom door closed to keep the air in just the bedroom) only speaks to how this is an ongoing problem. Yes, it was unseasonably hot but based on the rates, you have every right to expect decent air conditioning. (When our Uber driver picked us up to to go to the airport, he even asked if they had repaired the AC as other guests had mentioned to him that it was a problem). 2. Don't let the picture fool you. a. the pool area is small for the number of guests. Getting a chair is pretty much impossible. b. you will not be staying in the building in the picture, but rather taking up to 3 elevators, and walking long halls to get to your room. Apparently, they added on to the original historic building - so the rooms are located in 2 buildings behind the lobby. Don't ask for a harbor view, it's not worth it as it equates to your room being even further from the rest/bar/pool/street. And chances are. you are going to be in Dubrovnik where almost everywhere you go, there is water nearby.

Dear guest, thank you for this detailed comment including many features. We would like to take the opportunity to explain few things; unfortunately the extremity of the summer heat this year took us all by surprise and that intensity had the effect on the air condition operation. System is set to 21 - 22C maximum and cannot be lowered at the height of the outside temperatures that reached 38C this season. Hotel has a beautiful secluded garden area which can be used once all the places by the pool are used. Our photos represent the actual situation and all clients who specifically book the main building (superior wing) behind the pool will be allocated in that wing. It is explained on our web site (in description, names and photos) that hotel has 2 different wings (classic and superior) connected with inner corridor. Kind regards Kristina Filippi Sales Department

So I hate leaving negative reviews so I will give the positives first
1. Really pretty hotel from the outside
2.Really clean pool area with hard working pool staff
3.Housekeeping daily clean towels not clean bedding
Negatives (so many, sorry)
1. Poor food, we were half board. Breakfast is very busy sometimes difficult to find a table, coffee is poor. Fruit/ food not replenished quickly. Food is lukewarm never hot. Omelettes only once cooked fresh the week we were there. Evening meals very quiet only 10 people maximum in dining room. Evening food very poor and cold for a four star hotel. Not sure if this was regional or just this hotel. Really expensive drinks even water was €6 per bottle, extortionate. No option of tap water with food even though it is drinkable. We ate out 4/7 nights.
2.Rooms small paid extra for ‘superior’ room with sea view (which was partial) really loud air con and tv didn’t work at first. This was rectified.
3. Small fridge cannot fit anything in it really.
4. Staff helpful but fairly abrupt
5.Pool is freezing not heated
6.Sunbeds are always taken by towels but no people
7.Pool food/drink very expensive
8.Heavy plant machinery right outside hotel. Where to start with this 🤯. Firstly health and safety nightmare which would not happen in UK. There is no way we would be able to walk anywhere near this if in UK. Pedestrian safety not considered at all huge JCB swinging buckets over head huge pot holes and puddles, stinking drains. I’m sure when it is completed it will be wonderful but not sure the hotel should be open until then.
9. Taxis will not pick up outside due to construction
10.15 minutes walk to main road for bus to old town, I would stay at a hotel nearer if that is why you’re visiting Dubrovnik. Croatia is REALLY expensive. When we we’re checking out the young lad at reception explained we ‘tourists’ pay 40% more for food/drink which is how they manage to live. Mind blowing 🤯

Dear Polly thank you for taking time to share in details your vacation experience with us. Every direct comment is important, giving us an insight on what has been perceived as positive and what needs to be improved. We are sorry to hear gastronomy offer disappointed you, this is something that has been sent our food and beverage manager for discussion and we shall do our best to improve certain things. You have booked suite which is called ''junior marina view'' and it does have a view on the marina. Please note we do not have rooms that are described as sea view because that means direct view of the sea, which is something we do not have, there is only side sea view which is in the classic wing where all rooms are on the side of the cascade floors. Fridge in the room is a mini bar (stocked on request) that is just for mini bar products and to keep their temperatures cool, it is not a traditional mini fridge. There must have been some sort of miscommunication when talking about costs; in general, since having Euro combined with global inflation, total living costs of everything in entire Croatia have soared up by 40%. So definitely not true that guests are charged 40% more, entire country is affected by this situation. Price of food and beverage in our hotela are in range of all 4* hotels in Dubrovnik county and water bottle is 4,5 euro in our hotel. Licence taxi drivers will bring guests in front of our hotel, the ones creating issues are uber drivers. Many of them are out of town so not familiar with our locations and the ways to reach us. We are sorry for the situation with works, it is something we cannot influence and all we can do is to give our maximum into providing comfortable and enjoyable holidays. Works will be over by the end of November this year. Best regards Kristina Filippi Sales Department

If we were to describe this hotel in one word, it would be bland. There was no WOW effect or anything that would make us stunned or delighted for that matter.
Luckily, it was only couple of overnights for us. We have read many reviews in the last years referring to huge extent of works in the road and give credit where credit's due: it does look nice and freshly renovated but that shouldn't be enough to make you book specific place. Positive thing is that this city part does deliver much relaxed and traffic jam free area unlike road connections to the Old Town. Do not use any form of transportation to get to the Old town except for public buses, saves a lot of money and nerves.
Our room was on the smallish side, in the back building and definitely lacks more space in order to be fully comfy. Their breakfast was nice & in comparison to other hotels in Croatia, they do have decent selection of food. Of all the staff there, we found maids to be the most polite and kind, others not so much. Must point out the disappointment with their room service; after being told restaurant is not open and finding atmosphere of the pool bar not inviting or appealing, we decided to treat ourselves with room service. They advertise it but when you try calling them, nobody ever answers it. So after several attempts, we gave up and went to eat out at nearby dining Shelby and their food was to die for, delicious.
Oh, and if you are a sun enthusiast, pick a sunbed in the garden, much more privacy!

This is a lovely hotel and possibly the cleanest I have ever stayed in! It overlooks the Port in Dubrovnik so is a distance away from the Old Town (3k) but there is a bus stop ten minutes walk away and the return route drops you off opposite the hotel. The rooms are pleasant, well equipped and comfortable, the buffet breakfast is plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold food. Staff are pleasant and efficient. I didn’t eat in the restaurant at night (a buffet) but did have a light meal in the conservatory/bar, which was quite good and well priced. There are nice walks along the coast from the hotel but the only drawback was the bus into town which was as packed as the London Underground in rush hour. But don’t let that deter you from staying in this great venue.

Delighted we chose to stay at Hotel Lapad. Really comfortable quiet room, wonderful selection and quality of food at both breakfast and evening meal - we went half board and were never short of delicious options. Staff were fantastic! Always on hand and could never do enough for you. Evening entertainment was very good; albeit dropped down from 7 nights per week to 3 from end of Sept. Lapad has lots of buses to old town near hotel, you can also catch to other destinations, e.g. Cavtat (which is stunning). Lapad has beautiful marina outside hotel for trips, walks around nearby beaches and to town (c. 45 minutes walk up and down hill or 10 minutes of regular bus for 2.5Euros). Anecdotally we met people staying in old town unhappy with noise, and whilst Old Town is great to walk, shop, drink in, we like quiet when back in hotel room. Hotel is also large enough that all the trips we booked gave Hotel pickups outside!

Just returned from Hotel Lapad which is a beautiful Hotel in Lapad area around a 25 minute journey to Dubrovnik Old Town. (10 minute walk , 15 minute prompt bus transfer)
We had a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms which had a balcony overlooking the hills and well manicured garden with lemon trees.
The rooms were spacious, modern, beautifully clean and well maintained with excellent room service.
We had half board which was really worth the upgrade. The breakfasts were well cooked a good variety of cold and cooked buffet. We always judge by quality of orange juice and bread and both were excellent! The evening meals exceeded our expectations. Good variety of starters, nice salads and soup. Main meal was well cooked and varied, fish meat and veggie options were all good. The deserts were particularly good! Good variety of drinks, Croatian beer and wine were very good.
The grounds of the Hotel were immaculate, unfortunatley is wasnt warm enough to sample the pool but it looked very inviting.
All the staff were friendly and polite and efficient.
My Husband was ill for a couple of days and the staff couldnt hve been kinder, constantly offering any help we might need, hes fully recovered now.
Dubrovnik is such a beautiful city with plenty to do. The Lokrum Island ferry trip was wonderful, highly recommend. The three island Eliphite island trip was also good, we werent quite sure what to expect with lunch on board but it was lovely and the crew couldnt have been nicer. Suggest city walls are navigated when there is a gentle wind
but the views are amazing.
We bought the 7 day Dubrovnik city pass which includes bus travel and some of the main attractions, well worth it!
There are some works being carried out at the Marina in front of the Hotel which will be amazing when finished, This did not detract from our enjoyment of the Hotel and the noise was minimal!
Thank you again Hotel Lapad for a wonderful stay , we would love to return!

The best maintained hotel I have ever been to and a very fine castle-like façade. Mostly adult guests at least during May, so a calm atmosphere. Room cleaning is done daily and the cleaners and other staff are very friendly. The balcony rooms are quite modern, but small as are the balconies. The balcony rooms are on the sides of the annex, so the view of the harbor is only partial from most of the rooms. Rooms have free air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe and a fridge. Room lighting is great, but the lighting control panel is difficult to use without instruction. The reception will help with any questions. The breakfast buffet is good and there is also a buffet dinner (available at an additional cost), but the meat is always overcooked, so dinner is not of a fine dining standard. The selection is good including salads, fish, chicken, meat and dessert cakes. All drinks for dinner must be purchased separately. Please note that dinner costs 200 kunas per person (approximately EUR 25) when purchased at the hotel, so it is advisable to buy half board directly when booking the hotel, if more discounted. The pool area and garden are great, but there are too few sun loungers and parasols. The location of the hotel is quiet in the marina and at least during our time the construction of the coastal road did not bother us. About a 15 minute walk to sunset beach promenade with lots of bars and restaurants. About a 45 minute walk to the old town or about 10 minutes by bus number 6. The super-konzum grocery store in Cruz Bay is affordable with a good selection, but there are few other shops. At least you should see the old town, the Buza bar, the SRD mountain with a cable car and a walk around the Lapad peninsula. You can buy a day trip to the really beautiful Kotor, Montenegro, which I recommend. I will definitely return to Dubrovnik, but to Lapad sunset beach, where you can see the sunset every night. Still, the Lapad hotel receives a strong recommendation from us.

It’s an old Hotel, make sure you take a travel plug as no usb points, Great Restaurant just up the Road called Peppers really nice food, you can walk to the old town about 30 mins. Walk round old town wall £27 each cable car £27 each ferry to island £27 each Islam only worth doing if your into Game of thrones, if your going up the cable car book the Restaurant early to get city view
