The Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik comes highly recommended for its impeccable cleanliness and classic elegance, with many guests captivated by its charming decor. Nestled close to Old Town, the hotel’s location is a hit among travelers eager to explore local attractions. Guests have called out the spacious, well-appointed rooms with a nod to the comfortable beds.
While some consider the hotel on the pricey side, the consensus is that the value is reflected in the top-notch amenities and exceptional service. However, accessibility for mobility scooters may be an issue due to limited sidewalk cutouts.

Detailed Reviews
The check-in was easy and the staff members were friendly. We had a few questions and/or requested beach towels or recommendations and each time we received good, efficient, and friendly service. We were not in the main hotel, but in the smaller building behind the main hotel, which was just as fine. Our room was a good size with an entry way area that had a chest of drawers, a bench and a good size closet with a large safe that could fit a laptop. The room had 2 single beds, a small couch and a table with chairs. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of space around the sink to place toiletries. The room was very clean and looked updated. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choices. I hadn’t noticed until we were leaving on the last day, that one could apparently order food as well. For example, the buffet had scrambled eggs, but I saw the host bringing someone sunny side up eggs. This was not a big deal, because as I said, there were plenty of choices on the buffet. They have indoor and outdoor seating and both are very nicely decorated with a lot of plants and trees outside. We also preordered breakfast on two mornings, since we had a couple of very early tours. The food was ready when we had requested and it was pretty good – what one would more/less expect in a bagged breakfast to go. The hotel is also very close to the entrance to the walled part of Dubrovnick, Pile Gate, approx. a 5-7 minute easy walk. Also, the tourist office is less than a 5 minute walk away – towards Pile Gate and a lot of tours leave near the tourist office, which makes it very easy on those early morning tours to just be able to walk less than 5 minutes to get to the tour bus pick up location.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a great hotel with a perfect location just outside Pile Gate. It’s close to everything. Rooms are large and comfy. Bathrooms have lots of light and large fluffy towels - not the postage stamp size towels that most hotels use. The breakfast buffet was great, with lots of choices and they made eggs, French toast or waffles to order. When they found out it was our 25th anniversary they even sent us champagne. You can’t choose a better hotel.

The location of the hotel is unique - in a few steps you reach the old town. Reception, service, bar - very nice and dedicated staff. As a guest you feel appreciated here - on arrival our rooms were not ready to move into; we were then allowed to stay in the very nice lounge, which also offers food and a wide range of drinks from 17:00.
The breakfast buffet is very rich - nothing is missing. Egg dishes are ordered separately and then freshly prepared; the coffee is freshly prepared. A very nice terrace offers enough space to enjoy breakfast outside.
The rooms are very well equipped - room 427 has a very large corner terrace overlooking the old town - fantastic view! Unfortunately, the terraces are not equipped with umbrellas or sun loungers; you might expect this for a hotel in this segment. The shower is connected to his bathtub; in room 426 you have a separate shower and two rooms - but a small balcony, which also allows a beautiful view of the old town and the sea.

Excellent customer service, amazing location, and great breakfast. The Imperial has an old world style and charm - and some of the oddities that come from old world design like random stairs. We had a King Superior Room without a balcony. The room was spacious and well appointed with a well stocked mini-bar (for those that want to pay), small table with chairs, side sofa, large flat screen, and full bathroom with tub. I found the bed to be a bit on the firm side for me but generally comfortable with nice cuddly pillows. The view was of the front drive, i.e. we were over the lobby, but it was fine and quiet. Everything was very clean. We had some minor maintenance issues that were corrected promptly. The swimming pool is indoor but has a glass roof and they have a sauna and steam room. I liked that they had a cold foot bath to walk through to reduce sand and dirt in pool area. The breakfast was a full buffet with a lot of variety to meet different dietary needs. We used the executive lounge for coffee, light snacks and fruits, and the cocktail hour, which has a pretty well-stocked bar and some heavier foods like gnocchi cups, sliced ham, and cheese. The concierge was fantastic. He provided very good recommendations and advice on traveling around the city beyond the old town area. The location right outside the gate is perfect. You can walk right into old town in two minutes. Traffic is pretty bad (no joke, some of the worst I've seen), but on leaving it took us about 45 mins to drive to the airport mid-day on a Tuesday in August. I would absolutely stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The hotel staff, especially kudos to Mara Kacic, the Guest Relations and Duty Manager who was so personally helpful to my needs as a handicapped guest as well as all other staff members were friendly, professional and eager to assist. The hotel is decorated with old world elegant charm. The room rate included a full delicious breakfast buffet as well as a menu for other items not on the buffet such as omelettes and French Toast. There was an outdoor patio where we enjoyed breakfast as well as indoor seating. The bar area also served light fare. The location of the hotel was great as it was a short walk to the Pile Gate of Old Town Dubrovnik and all of its history and grandeur.
As a person who used a mobility scoote, navigating the nearby street to get to the Pile Gate was a challenge as there was NO CUTOUTS in the sidewalks to get from the hotel to the Pile Gate. This was in no way the fault of the hotel but rather of the city itself who has not adopted any handicapped accessible features whatsoever. But we managed by lifting my scooter down or up the curbs to get where we wanted to be.
I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone wanting a very special experience in Dubrovnik.

Firstly, I have to say that this hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring the old town of Dubrovnik - literally a short walk from the Pile Gate. Also, no issues with cleanliness in either the room or public areas.
However, whilst the rooms were bright and fresh, it felt outdated and lacking in some aspects. Firstly, there was a wardrobe but, aside from bedside cabinets, no drawer space. T-shirts, shorts and the like had to be stored on the shelf above the hanging rail which really isn’t much good!
The bathroom needs modernised - shower was over the bath instead of a walk-in shower which is more normal in 5 star hotels. Still mystified as to the purpose of the stool provided in the bathroom as it was too low to use at the mirror! And if you have a bath, a bar of soap would be good rather than bottles of body wash and gel half way up the wall!
No significant noise from adjacent rooms but occasional loud noise externally from motorbikes screeching up the hill from Pile Gate.
Overall - ok for a night or 2 as you explore the old town but, due to the absence of adequate storage or outdoor seating (other than the terrace at the bar), I personally would look elsewhere.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. Thank you for complimenting our spacious room and its view, as well as the location. Dubrovnik is a wonderful city and we are indeed happy to have such a great location very close by. Please note that hotel is a historical building dating from 1897 and as such is a listed building with certain constructional limitations, therefore the bathroom layout is usually a bathtub, rather than a shower. Also, as Hilton standards ensue our bathrooms are equipped with refillable dispensers, which are used as part of mindful Hilton brand. We hope this has not caused you too much of an inconvenience. We also hope to squeeze in a bathroom renovation in the near future. We would love to welcome you back to our property for a flawless stay. Kind Regards, Mara Kacic Guest Relations and Duty Manager Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik

Ideal location in that it is a 2 minute walk to where the tour buses depart, 3 minutes to the walled old town, and 10 minutes to the cable car terminus and the piers from where the ferry and tour boats leave.
The hotel is luxury and refined with a staff who are friendly, professiona, and willing to give advice when asked.
We had an Executive room with an easterly outlook over the cable car hill and with a balcony with two seats and a table which got the sun until mid afternoon.
The room was very large with ample storage space and a large comfortable bed - there are plenty of electric sockets The bathroom was large with the only drawback that we prefer a separate shower cubicle rather than one over the bath.
The Exceutive lounge can get quite busy between 5.00 and 7.00 p.m. when they serve tapas and a good selection of alcoholic drinks. The lounge is open until 11.00 p.m. with hot/cold drinks and a snack selection.
Breakfast is a very extensive buffet and you can order French toast, omelettes, etc.
The bar has a range of meals at reasonable prices and ample portions.
There is a big indoor pool with a sauna, steam room and gym - none of which were very busy during our one week stay.
Although there is an outdoor terrace with comfortable seats, there is nowhere where you can sit on a sun lounger for a relaxing sunbathing session.
It is onle the shower and lack of sunbathing areas which limits this excellent venue.

The Hilton imperial Dubrovnik is an outstanding property, offering in my opinion excellent value for money. It comprises part of an historic hotel along with a modern addition. The finishes are excellent, and the common areas in the historic part of the hotel have been beautifully renovated and appointed. There is a wonderful terrace for drinks, and a lower terrace for dining.
The location immediately adjacent to the entrance to Dubrovnik's old town, the center for all tourist interest, is unparalleled. As the hotel is not in the exclusively pedestrian Old Town there is easy road access.
The hotel reception, concierge and bell staff were unfailingly efficient, gracious, polite and went the extra mile.Â
Things to know if you are planning a visit: if arriving at the airport, the hotel can arrange a transfer for the same price as a taxi, billed to your room. We were picked up in a gleaming black Mercedes by a friendly and informative driver. There is a good fitness center, with adjacent small spa and a swimming pool, technically indoors as it is at the basement level and roofed by an opaque skylight.

We stayed in the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik for four wonderful nights in early September. We were recognized right away as Diamond members and were upgraded to a Deluxe King Suite and had access to the Executive Lounge. The weather during our stay was pretty warm so after a day of exploring it was a nice way to relax with a cold drink in the lounge.
We ate breakfast at the hotel (included as a Diamond) 3 of the 4 days and the buffet and cooked to order items were excellent with a nice selection of hot and cold items. We also had a very nice quiet dinner in the hotel one night as well and enjoyed it.
The room was well appointed and housekeeping did a great job of keeping it cleaned and organized. The best thing though about this hotel was the location. You literally walked out the front lobby door and five minutes later you were at the Pile Gate entrance to Old Town and restaurants, etc. We could also walk to the Cable Car ticket area and station from the hotel in about 15 minutes. This would be our first choice if coming back to Dubrovnik. Thank you for your hospitality!

We stayed as a pair of friends at the Hilton for two nights. The hotel is a pleasant 40 minute drive from the airport, and is located across the street from the city walls, shops and restaurants. We settled on this hotel because of the location, which honestly could not be in a more ideal place. Despite being next to the Main Street, it is quiet and offered us a relaxing stay.
Check in was smooth, our room was not yet ready so they stored our luggage for us while we went out and explored a little bit. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Our room was in the villa part of the hotel, and it was large with a generous king sized bed and comfortable pillows. There is plenty of storage space and the bathroom is quite spacious as well; the room had a really grand feel to it with calming decor and warm lighting.
We enjoyed breakfast here, which had a great selection of continental as well as being able to make requests such as French toast etc
The hotel is clean and tidy, the housekeepers do a great job keeping everything tidy and clean.
Overall: 5 stars ( a fantastic experience )

Washington DC, District of Columbia490 contributions208 helpful votesI have booked a "Double Garden View" room at this hotel for June. The website does not show the size of their rooms. Does anyone know the size, or just generally did it seem very cramped if you stayed in one? Thank you.
View from rooms on the front of the main building look out to the Main Street leading into old town. We were on the side of the building looking towards old town with a partially obstructed view. You can’t beat the hotels location!!
