Great staff. Lovely hostel. Very clean! The bar is slightly more expensive than the bars in town (but you can bring your own booze in). Showers are great, also the pool and roof terrace. The breakfast smoothies are really good, especially when hungover. Would recommend to anyone staying in Zadar.

This place is a great and relatively cheep option in Zadar. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hostel offers maps, advice on places to eat and runs excursions to various local attractions. The hostel contains both dorm and private rooms; a small kitchen; shower rooms (which are very clean and look pretty new) as well as separate...

Staff was very friendly and personable! Facility was clean. Close proximity to the water. Was not located in the old town but it was an easy walk or cab ride. Staff took us on a tour of the national park, which was awesome!

Really cool place in Zadar. Interior modern and clean. Perfect for socialising and meeting people with cheap inhouse bar. Sufficient electrical plugs and good wifi everywhere. Friendly staff. Easy to find with gps. Secure parking a few hundred meters away at Lazy Monkey. Take note this is not close to Old Town where many shops, restaurants and bars are. Approximately...

There were a few factors that made this hostel mediocre and not fantastic. Firstly (keep in mind we were here mid-April), the rooms are actually open and therefore at night time, cooled down to about 8 degrees Celsius. The beds were absolutely freezing and unfortunately you are provided only a single thin sheet (I'm usually not picky but it was...

I stayed at The Drunken Monkey for the majority of my time in Croatia. Originally I had only intended to stay for 5 nights though I returned after my first experience. Warm, friendly & relaxed atmosphere created by the amazing people working there. I would definitely recommend if you intend to visit Zadar, can't wait to return!

Stay away if you look for a quiet place and a comfortable bed. Do not rent one of these expensive bikes, the brakes don't work properly, it's cheap stuff, nobody cares for them. People are friendly, house is nice, place is clean. Perfect stay for party travellers.

The best hostal I was in my last trip, Zadar is the Paradise in Croatia, and the Monkey Drunken help a lot, the staff is very nice, they show you all the hostal and do activities, is very clean and cute, and very close from the old town, of course I would go back again!

My first hostel visiting Croatia and definitely my favourite! This is a brilliant hostel for meeting people, socialising and having fun. There’s a great common/chill out area with comfy seats, good wifi signal, great music, a bar with cheap prices and a projector for those rainy/hangover days. The hostel is in a great location, with shops and a bus station...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are the only established hostel in Zadar owned and run by fellow travelers. Set in a charming part of town only 15 minutes walk along the water front to the old city gates. 'Why should I stay outside the old town? 'Well, quite simply, we offer what the other hostels do not. We have a decked garden complete with sun loungers, splash pool, bar, and a sun terrace. As well as this we have a private courtyard, movie projector and guest computers. We are a clean, comfortable and secure hostel, located in the safe neighborhood of Arbanasi. Ideally situated minutes away from the main bus station, and the scenic Kolovare promenade; nothing Zadar has to offer is out of arm's reach. Note to self to all our globetrotters, avid and novice travelers that like to leave our beloved reviews - We are not in the Old Town! We are able to offer you all the facilities noted above for that very reason. We do have a bar that can get a little exciting and noisy at times, however, this is well regulated by us. We are definitely a hostel that offers fun and excitement as well as relaxation and calm. Come see for yourselves...... ... more   less
