This is a quant/cute "Bed & Breakfast" style place in the heart of old town (but located in a seemingly quiet alley).

Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very nice with unique furnishing, and appear to be well kept.

I stayed in one of the 1 bedroom apartments and was completely content. The downstairs had a small kitchen, bathroom, and "living/dining area" with a spiral staircase leading to an upstairs bedroom + full patio/balcony. The hotel does include breakfast at a neighboring restaurant every day of the week except for Sunday. The breakfast at the neighboring restaurant was quite enjoyable (they have a different menu for customers staying in the B&B). The bed in my room was a bit too firm for my liking but that's not unheard of Europe in general.

The staff at Casa Rozelor were able to organize an outing for me to the nearby attractions: castles, etc, with no problem. I had a private driver for two days, completely organized through them.

This is a really quaint place - but far different from any large style hotel (which is what I normally frequent) so that has to be taken into consideration. That being said, my stay here was great and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

The non-chalant layed back atmosphere made us feel right at home. The apartment had a personal and stylish flair, rivalling the surrounding inner city environment.
Our host Gregor provided us with detailled and valuable information both on the city, foods and culture, as well as on local and regional hikes.
Definitely the place to return to on our next trip to Brasov.

Great location in the old town area of this interesting/charming city. Easy check-in. Fantastic large room, with a small kitchenette, comfortable bed, work table, lots of hot water in the shower, good heat, and a cozy room overall.

I would call this more of a cozy, well-located bed and breakfast, than a boutique hotel, with light cooking possibilities (including two burners, refrigerator, and some cooking utensils, with a small table that can be used for eating or getting work done.

Highly recommend! Excellent value and overall excellent experience, with countless restaurants and things to see within five minutes or less, including lots of restaurants within a couple hundred feet.

Casa Rozelor was a total gem in the perfect location. You are literally right in the middle of the old town with restaurants and cafes literally right outside your door. The owner, Gregor is a fantastic wealth of knowledge about the area and will evens great restaurants and things to do in the area. He was so flexible with my check out and the space was lovely. Make sure you look at all the photos on their listing so you’re aware that you may not know which apt you will get as there are several. All in all a great stay!!

Great location in the centre of town but surprisingly very quiet too. Beds very comfortable and self catering studio is very large. Kitchen facilities great to make coffee, breakfast etc. It suited us as we ate out in the evening. Just note there is one small pan so if you wanted to cook. Very warm and comfortable.

We agree with the previous reviews. This was a lovely property, with a terrific location, gracious and helpful owners, and unique rooms.

The hotel is located steps from Brasov's main pedestrian-only street and, and about a block from Piata Sfatului, the main square. We had apartment number 6, which had a living room/kitchen/bathroom on the main floor, and a spiral staircase up to the bedroom and outdoor terrace. We had a tour of the other two apartments, and the second floor room was really special (request that one if you can!)

Breakfast was served by a bistro next door (Bistro Del'Arte--we also had an excellent dinner there) and delivered to your room. The only minor inconvenience is that it is not served until 9:00 am, which is a bit of a problem if you're looking for an early start (although I got the impression that something could definitely be arranged if this was an issue for any reason).

We were able to park our rental car in the hotel's courtyard, which was very helpful as I'm not sure what we would have done with it otherwise. On a couple of occasions, there was a car blocking our entrance/exit, but it was simple enough to speak to the owners, who knew who the car belonged to and were able to arrange for it to be moved very quickly.

The owners were very helpful and accommodating, providing us with small change, a map, and thoughtful suggestions on restaurants and sights. We had to leave very early in the morning (more like the middle of the night) and they provided a discount due to the fact we wouldn't be getting breakfast.

Overall, highly recommended.

Finding the Casa Rozelor isn't exactly easy and, it doesn't help if you've been using the map in the Lonely Planet guide to Romania and you think you're entering Brasov from the bottom of the page... But a phone call later, the charming and endlessly helpful Gregor is taking us on a whistle-stop tour of Brasov to reorientate us and then we're safely ensconced in our fab apartment no. 5. In fact, at present, there are just three apartments but two more come on stream in a couple of months. Our apartment was a large, open plan room under the eaves with a wonderful, sun-drenched terrace overlooking the courtyard. The terrace couldn't exactly be described as un-overlooked, but it's a rare and private outside space in a town that's rather cheek by jowl, particularly in the pedestrian-only area where Casa Rozelor is. The apartment and common parts are beautifully and tastefully furnished with an interesting combination of the old and new. We rather liked the bright red, Teac retro radio/CD by the bed. Satellite flat-screen TV and wi-fi are available, and breakfast is delivered to one's room by the adjoining bistro. Brasov is well-provided with restaurants, the best being Casa Hirscher and the worst , probably, Bella Muzica, which overestimates the joy of dining in a cellar and underestimates the average tourist's palate. Brasov makes an excellent base for exploring the charms of Transylvania, but that doesn't include the cable car trip to the nearby summit, which seemed to provide a bar and little else apart from rather too close proximity to other tourists. For excursions outside Brasov, the old citadel at Rasnov is definitely worth visiting and Prejmer has an interesting fortified church from the 15th century.

We found this little gem over the web and if you want the very best on all fronts, please join them as a guest. We stayed in a room on the upper level and I must say we were thrilled. It was beautiful and the owners a complete delight. We have travelled much and will definately return to Brasov again to stay at Casa.

I can't recommended Casa Rozelor highly enough...Situated 1 minute from the main square and near all amenities and restaurants, these apartments are a true find. The owners, Christina and Gregor were very welcoming and helped us with our queries while parking was easy. The apartments are spacious, self-contained and decorated exquisitely - making each one a true home away from home. The wrought-iron spiral staircases and dimly-lit terraces add sophistication to each individual suite. Breakfast is included and can be served alfresco to your requirements by friendly staff from the adjoining bistro - the fare is delicious. I would certainly not put these apartments in the B&B category as the standard of the suites elevates them to the category of boutique apartments. The perfect spot to explore Brasov and it's many neighbouring sights - enjoy!

Casa Rozelor means House of Roses, and it was as sweet a place as my wife and I found during our visit to Romania, a country that more Americans are discovering and that continually surprised us with the quality of its accomodations. The rooms -- there are only three -- aren't rooms but large, comfortable suites, two with terraces, in a hidden courtyard just off Brasov's pedestrian main drag, steps from its restaurants and shops. We had the non-terrace room downstairs. It had all the things that count for us -- original art, funky modern furniture mixed with antiques, a big, comfortable bed, plush towels and bed linens, ergonomic knobs and faucets, even dimming light switches that you tap to operate. We felt we were in a place that was utterly unique, not stamped out with a cookie-cutter.

The service was great. We arrived on a Saturday night and found our breakfast for the next morning already prepared in the full kitchen -- a selection of breads, cheeses and cold cuts, juice, yoghurt, and coffee waiting to be brewed. That was because the bistro around the corner, which provides the breakfast service, didn't open until noon on Sunday. The rest of the time, the breakfast of your choice is served in your suite. It's included in the price, which was 100 euros a night when we were there in July, 2006.

Gregor Wiershen was an engaging and accomodating host. (His wife Cristina was away in the U.S. when we were there.) He gave us the lowdown on the local restaurants, day trips to nearby attractions such as Bran Castle in Bran, Peles Castle in Sinaia, and the medieval town of Sighisoara. He even helped me negotiate the bureaucratic hurdles involved in paying off a speeding ticket I had gotten on the way to Brasov. (It cost 30 lei, or about $13.) Since street access to Casa Rozelor is limited to local traffic, I had no trouble finding free space to park our rental car. Finding the hotel was another story, but once we broke the code -- wave your hotel reservation at the police barrier to enter the restricted zone – it was no problem.

The Wierschens are in the process of renovating an ancient building that backs onto the Casa Rozelor, which when they're finished will place another ten rooms under their hospitable direction. Given the pace of local construction work, that may not be for some time. Until then, Casa Rozelor is that much more unique, and for my money well worth the advance booking it may take to get one of the three rooms.
