Detailed Reviews
I arrived with my family to the hotel at about 8:00 PM on 15 December to stay for one night in two rooms 210 and 211.
It was assuring to be asked at the hotel entrance by the security that we wear masks. Inside the hotel there are many signs regarding Coved-19.
However, it was very disappointing to see the front-office employees did not have a mask on, and when we asked him, he said: ”I do not need the mask behind the glass!”
So The front-office staff are setting bad example. They are allowed to contaminate with their spray the ID, the credit cards, room key, and the paper they passes to the hotel residents.
The breakfast has many variety with mediocre quality. However, the serving staff were very professional, and all did wear masks.

This is a Scandinavian owned hotel at the edge of the Royal Gardens. Service is wonderful, the rooms are large and comfortable and all have sea views, some of the beach area and others of the Royal Palace and the sea.
Breakfast is excellent as is the wi-fi.
At the time I stayed (October 2022) much of the gardens and access roads are torn up for reconstruction so driving in can be difficult.
Zanillas Coffee and More, a nice seaside restaurant is about a 1 minute walk from the front door. it has an excellent menu which includes good seafood dishes, as well as burgers, salads, etc.

While it's not near the city center, it is quiet and peaceful. Take a walk along the beach for a nice respite from sightseeing. Room 611 has a balcony overlooking the pool and private beach; very comfortable king bed, tub with shower, mini fridge, 2 chairs, desk. The Alexandrina restaurant buffet breakfast has a huge selection; a la carte for dinner. La Piazza has pizza, pasta, risotto and mains. There are other eateries. The bar/lounge is on the lower level, behind unmarked doors.

Booked one night 2 connected rooms.
Room extremely smelly, linen smelly and toilets in a bad condition
Breakfast not worth a penny, they turned off the AC and the restaurent yturned into a sauna
Food presentation is a COVID19 guarantee tactic
Tasteless food, drinks awful
The most annoying bit is the beach, THERE IS NO BEACH…. They sold it to a coffee shop and kept a tinny bit on a hill with 2 meter stair access !!!!
Paid 8000 egp for literally nothing.
Message for the hotel owner Mr.Anani Galal either u visit ur hotel or u shut it down. You are out of touch. You star rating must be reviewed

Very very rude staff

Again the room service lady was very very rude saying u have to pay for it !!
Dahhhh !! Am paying and u don’t have to be that rude !
Next day the pool was out of service !!! They said there is a problem with the water !!!
We travelled all over the world and we ‘ve never seen such problem else where!!
Terrible experience and we’re not staying there ever again .

I visited Helnan Palestine Hotel to attend a conference in Alexandria. When I checked the internet to check the hotel, I was so excited to visit the hotel and walk around the gardens. When I arrived I was disappointed, the whole area is under renovation. We need around 20 minutes to reach the main street from the hotel on foot, and almost all uber drivers refused to enter the hotel area due to the bad roads. The construction is on during the day and till late hours at night.
The only positive thing about the experience was the sea view, however, it is ruined by the construction noise and dust. We cannot enjoy it and use the room balcony.
The service was average.
The front desk officers took a long time to check us. We were three checking in at the same. two key cards did not work, and my colleague who managed to access his room found the maintenance team in his room. He had to wait for another 15 minutes to get his room.

The hotel was constructed in 1964 in 150 days to accommodate the "Pan Arab Kings and Presidents Committee". It has a very nice and special location over the sea in El-Montazah resort, that was part of the King's Egypt Residencial Area. The rooms are well equipped and clean. Restaurant presents a very delicious food. The personal there are kind and helpful.

A planned visit from the 25th to the 29th of July 2023 ended with a one-night stay!
To say the least, this experience is very bad in all respects!
There is no longer a private sandy beach for the hotel, a very modest level of food, and unacceptable cleanliness for the swimming pool!
In fact, I do not know why should I pay a large amount of money for staying in a hotel that is supposed to be 5 stars, and in fact it lacks the least services that are supposed to be available!!?
I am really sad at the level that such a famous hotel has reached!

Great stay! Wonderful location and very good service. This was our first trip to Alexandria so I asked some knowledgeable colleagues about hotels and there was no hesitation "Helnan Palestine" is the place to stay. Although it is pretty much on the corniche in the middle of a city of 6 million it is isolated from the noise of traffic and crowds as the Montazah Palace grounds serve as a noise buffer. We had numerous good to great meals although the wine list is a bit sparse. One of the nicest things about the Palestine is to walk out from the hotel directly onto the beach. And you can walk for kilometers around the palace gardens. We also have to give a thank you shout out to Mr. Shahat as he was always helpful and ready to get us what we needed!

12/10 for location, along the Mediterranean Sea and the Palace. Wonderful large balconies. The gardens are well-tended, beautifully lit and filled with Egyptians on their weekend. Some are local and some on holiday.
The hotel food was several levels below our Cairo hotel but we had meals out so it didn’t ruin our experience of this great city.
