When we arrived we were shown to a room on the 2nd floor which the only access was via the main staircase then up a spiral staircase. The room was very small with one side of the bed hard against a wall and nowhere to put our cases we immediately asked for a change of room. We were reallocated a...

Although the hotel is not central the staff more than make up for it. The rooms are small but have all the amenities you might need. As the hotel is boutique the pool, spa and restaurant are all to hand. If you like Indian food this is the place for you.

The hotel is well decorated and the staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. The rooms are a little small but well maintained and furnished. The breakfast was good but could have more options. It is also well located near many attractions.

We spend 3 nights in April 2017. Welcome of the staff is great and service is high. Breakfast is top. Only issue is that there was a lot of outside work around the hotel and it was really noisy. Overall service is perfect. Their restaurant is great too

I guess young-rich &family gather around hotel restaurant.mood is good but sometime karaoke is bit noisy...price is so-so 地元のお金持ちが普段使いするようなレストランです。味、値段共に外国人には至って標準的かと。ただ、たまにカラオケをしてるのでうるさいです…ただ、客層及びスタッフが良いので特に不快にはならないかと思います。

I still like this place despite the rooms are pretty small and actually, the place is a little overpriced. This is a boutique hotel, that is why I was a little bit dissapointed during my last stay in 2016 when I had to experience that they also take tour groups which was the case during my last stay there. The...

Lovely boutique hotel in a nice setting. The room we opted for was small and dark but quiet, which was great. The bathroom was a little tired looking, but fine. The more expensive/lighter rooms overlook the small pool and the restaurant, but will probably not be so quiet. Good restaurant and excellent, helpful staff throughout.

This boutique hotel is set in a welcoming space enclosing a lush garden with water features. It has a striking Pagoda-style roof, red teak furniture, floors and staircases. I enjoyed the swimming pool and free evening cocktails with entertainment. My room was immaculately clean and lavish amenities were provided. Perfect location to explore local markets, the palace and nearby orphanage...

In the madness of Mandalay this little retreat shines like a beacon. Beautiful rooms, lovely (expensive) restaurant quaint little pool, free evening cocktails, music make this a wonderful place to stay. It's not cheap but rarely are the best things. This is a romantic hotel not to be missed.

Of all the places that I stayed in Myanmar in a three week stay, this was my least favorite hotel. There were pluses nd minuses. First the good things. There is a good restaurant on site, Spice Garden, that offers decent Indian Food. We ended up eating here three times for dinner after long days of sightseeing as we were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
An oasis by the landmark Red Canal in local folklore just minutes from the famed Mandalay Palace and other attractions, The Hotel by the Red Canal is a convenient sanctuary, with its lush tropical greenery and calming water features, amidst the hustle and bustle of Myanmar's cultural city. “By choosing to stay with us, we will provide you with the extra measure of quality, comfort and personal convenience that you are looking for. Being small, we are able to provide personal attention to the needs, wants, and expectations of every guest.” The boutique-style hotel is a celebration of all things Myanmar, featuring teak furniture and fixtures & fittings made from rattan, mother-of-pearl and other local materials as well as Myanmar marble lining the bathroom walls. Each of the 4 types of guestrooms or customized suites, differentiated by individual style, bears the name of the major ethnic groups in multi-cultural Myanmar and is adorned with rich traditional paraphernalia and trappings reflecting their respective cultural heritage. All Chin and Shan suites feature a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and garden green. Ground floor Chin suites enjoy a “water moat”. The Rakhine suites are spacious and ideal for the business traveler. An outdoor shower with a slate wall of cascading water is the highlight of the honeymooner Kachin suites. ... more   less
