There are plenty of accommodation choices in Luang Prabang, with a variety of price points. Most choices are in or near the lovely heritage listed old town, and it would suit many to be close to the action. We chose Mekong Estate because a garden setting close to the river appealed to us, especially with a seven night stay. We...

Nestled by the river about 2 km from central LP this a beautiful place to stay for those who want to explore the area. The rooms are lovely with balconies overlooking the river and pool and the sound of wildlife is mixed with the genuine Lao traditions in houses nearby. Nor thng that makes this place really special are the...

We moved here to get away from the noise in our more centrally located hotel. After 4 sleepless nights we were desperate for some peace and quiet and felt that we hit the jackpot with Mekong Estate. Toey, one of the managers, could not have been more helpful or charming and we were soon installed in the Garden Loft, which...

This is truly a special place - hidden away amidst a small Laos village, with a superb location on the Mekong River. We stayed in the Bamboo Suite - really beautiful, tasteful and spacious accommodation. Mr Touy and our housekeeper were very attentive - a fantastic breakfast was served to us in our room every morning and Mr Touy drove...

We went to Mekong estates for the duration of our stay in Luangprabang. Before that, we had been in another hotel outside the city where unfortunately, I got sick. Once we got into Mekong Estates, we were ushered inside by Tuey and May. I personally never really met Tuey for I was in bed for most of the trip, but...

A beautiful furnished room with a big terace overlooking the Mekong. A big pool to swim and also a relaxing place overlooking the Mekong with a tropical garden. Delicious breakfast in the room (overlooking the Mekong) and a helpful and friendly staff. We could use the bikes to go to the city which is not really far, but we also...

My wife & I recently spent five nights at Mekong Estate, which we had booked primarily due its excellent reviews. We were not disappointed & loved every moment there. We stayed in the Jade Suite, which we would highly recommend for a couple. This is large, airy, & comfortably appointed, with a long, reasonably wide balcony that provides some stunning...

Stayed three nights with a group of friends at the Rouge Maison. The place is fantastic, from anywhere in the villa you can see the river. It is really a good place to relax, however if you want to be at the middle of it all is not recommended as it is five minutes taxi ride from the city and...
