Hidden in the lush green jungle that surrounds the historic royal settlement of Luang Prabang, a river—emanating from a flowing waterfall—runs through the heart of this exotic retreat. Taking its cue from the French-Lao architecture for which the town is known, the interiors reflect the influences of ancient temples, while luxurious tented villas celebrate the explorer spirit.

The resort has lovely landscaping. Our understanding at the time of reservation was that this resort is in the jungle, but it is just for a busy road. The waterfall sound in the room was lovely, but this was often punctuated by sounds of some loud motorcycle trucks etc. During our stay, there was some musical festival near the hotel, so for two out of our three night stay there was some really loud noise between 6 pm and 11 pm. Our impression at the time of making this reservation was that it was in the middle of jungle, with only sounds of nature. The breakfast was fine, but I found the food at dinner very bland. We tried their tasting menu. For a 3 night stay at their basic room, with a couple of tour and meals, our bill was over USD $4000. Could not justify the price this hotel is charging. It’s out of town location could be justified, if it was truly in the jungle with no sounds of city, which was not the case. Loved their elephant bar over the waterfall. It seemed that the two of us were the only people who frequented it, not sure why it was not busy at all. Highly recommended the Manda de Laos restaurant in the city.

Beautiful location and grounds. Staff and management could not do enough to help. Perfect stay with many little touches like nightly gifts with the turn down service. Mr Ott, the manager, was incredibly helpful and provided advice and help whenever needed.

We had a lovely three night stay at this beautiful hotel outside Luang Prabang. LP is very popular now with Chinese and Asian visitors, and we were very glad that our agent, Wimeya Private Travel had recommended we stay here. The Rosewood offered a serene sanctuary from LP's hustle and bustle and the property and all rooms are set in a magical tropical garden, complete with its own flowing river and waterfall. As pretty an outdoor swimming pool you'll find anywhere and outstanding happy and warm service supervised expertly, by charming French manager, Adrien. We especially appreciated taking the hotel's private tours , to almsgiving, and to the waterfalls

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Rosewood in Luang Prabang. The property was beautiful and the team welcoming and helpful. We stayed with 3 children under 7 and the grounds and room were perfect. For our littlest, a cot with beautiful clean bedding was provided and ready upon arrival. Special highlights included the delicious breakfast, evening marshmallow roasting, fishing and the elephant bar. The resort is a drive away from the town; this is not a negative, just something to note depending on your travel priorities. A special thank you to Adrien Pons, the resort manager. He does an incredible job managing the property and all requests will be handled perfectly in his care. Thank you for having us!

Rosewood is spectacular. We had a riverside suite (The Henri Mouhot Suite) which was really sheer luxury. Each suite in the place has its own individual design by renowned architect and decorator, Bill Bentley. The whole place even comes with its own stream and waterfall. The gardens and pool are extremely well kept. The on site Elephant Bar is also a good place to start your evening. The staff in the entire resort were always helpful, friendly and on hand whenever needed. This place is not cheap, but worth the experience. A short, 40 minute drive away are the Luangsi Falls. Don't miss going there. It is well worth the effort. The hotel will arrange a car for you. We found the Laotian menu in the restaurant a little limited, but everything else was fantastic.

Sabaidee, Trevor, Thank you for choosing Rosewood Luang Prabang! We are grateful for this beautiful description of the resort. Glad to read you appreciated the unique decoration in each guestroom. Bill Bensley is indeed the architect for the property. Landscaping, building, interior design. He conceived Rosewood Luang Prabang as the reincarnation of a home of an expatriate host of a century ago, with every room, suite, villa or luxury tent reflecting a unique personality and the romanticism of a golden age of travel and adventure. Good to highlight that the waterfall is natural, and the gardeners take great pride in keeping the estate lush, yet neat. Mr. Noy (Thanakone) is the head bartender. He is delighted to read your words. We will enhance the food menu in Q1 2024. It will allow our new executive chef to full express his culinary talent. So, Trevor, we look forward to welcoming you back to Laos! Best regards, Adrien

Beautiful property very near the town. Manager was great and brought in a few star guests. Local chef for breakfast, local world renowned artist. Special daily treats in our room. They need a new chef. Food much better in town. Bartender needs to be aware of guests. 4 in the bar and after waiting for a drink for over 30 minutes went back to the room for a beer. Otherwise a great stay!

Sabaidee, KKent! Thank you for choosing Rosewood Luang Prabang. Very nice to have you with us. We are touched that you describe Rosewood Luang Prabang as the “best spot to stay in town”. It means a lot to the associates. Amazing that you got to enjoy our activations during the Festival of Lights. The lady who cooked the “nem khao” returned to her street food stall. She will come back here for the next festive days. Our Chef has joined recently. He is working on new menus to be launched in the coming weeks. The bartender will serve you better next time. His cocktails are renowned! He prepares all garnishes and mixtures from his own nursery and leaves from the garden. Glad you find the property beautiful. We look forward to welcoming you back to Laos for another great stay! Have safe and enjoyable journeys ahead. Adrien

Rosewood Luang Prabang exceeded all of my expectations. When it comes to first-rate service, you never falter. Mr. Tia, our driver, greeted me with the warmest of welcomes upon my arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, where he waited for my family for 30 minutes. In reality, he played soccer for the Lao national team. Wow, that's awesome! When we got there, we met the boss, Resort Manager - Mr. Adrien, and he is fantastic. During my time there, he provided excellent service no matter where we asked to go, or what to eat. He is a book! I also got to know Boumy, Vanh, Chan, Toukta, etc., and the FOM Bounlieng who were constantly there to lend a hand throughout our travels. I can't believe it. I have nothing but praise for their assistance because they are excellent and kind. The resort as a whole is so picturesque that it teaches us about Laotian history, culture and nature. All of the furnishings in our suite-style villa evoke a bygone era of splendor in Laos and Luang Prabang. I really appreciate the thoughtful touches, like the daily surprise on my bed and the homemade treat served in my room. The Great House Restaurant's a la carte breakfast is something I already miss. Very tasty, combining the best of both traditional Lao cuisine and Western influences. With its prime riverfront location, the Elephant Bridge Bar is also a must-visit spot in this resort. You need only get ready to completely submerge yourself in this secluded resort, hand over control of your life, and enjoy the best of what nature has to offer. Thank you very much Rosewood Luang Prabang!

First time vacation feel like staying in a warm home with good food and family like service. Greeted by Adrien and the team with their sharing of Rosewood "sense of place" design, love it. Food is very good. Staff is super nice. Service is very professional. The most unforgettable experience is Mr gentleman Vans, the driver, who took good care of my injuried friend in carrying her, buying the medicine, treating her injury and buying the crutch for her. And I also need to help my friend to thanks Miss Lee, her spa treatment is very professional and gentle. She helped to treat my friend injuried area with love and care. Lastly, we both like Mr cheerful Bounmy who always gave us warm welcome and support throughout these few days, love his smile always. We highly recommend Rosewood Luang Prabang to all travellers.
