I stayed at Xayana Guesthouse for 3 nights, 13th February to 16th February. The beds were large and comfortable. I would have preferred a place to store my bag in the room but there were lockers elsewhere in the hostel. The one downside to the dorm was that the toilet and shower facilities smelled horrible. The hostel is very well... More

When I arrived in Luang Prabang, the entire place was booked up and this was the only bed I could find. It's not mind-blowing, but it's fairly cheap and is clean and good enough to service a couple of nights. The A/C is frosty, bathrooms clean, etc. It's not a problem for me, but these rooms are the size of... More

I booked this hostel as it claimed to have 24 hour security and as my bus arrived at 4am I called ahead to check I could get in to my bed as soon as I arrived. I was assured I would. On arrival I found NO security, I waited outside until 5:30am before anyone appeared. Not good after a 15... More

I can only agree with other reviews that this place is adequate for what you pay but they aren't organized at all. You pay in advance and when you check in they say they never received your money, or if you agreed / reserved a certain bed they have given that away when you arrive. It's just little things which... This is a fantastic place to meet people - with a great lounge area out front, big, friendly dorms, and a good location near a few other hostels, I arrived solo but spent most of my days in a big group of 15-20. The aircon's pretty good, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and I had a great time -... More

Stayed here with a group of friends for 3 nights. The room was perfectly adequate for what we paid:- nice large beds and relatively clean. The location was also good. However, the staff were somewhat incompetent. They continued to enter our room without knocking for no apparent reason despite several requests asking them to knock before entering. They appeared extremely... More

Cheap, great location- opted for a private room for three which works out as much as a dorm per person. Rooms are big, nice lounge area out front. Good shower, nice balcony on room. Cons- one plug in the entire room and everything shuts off when the lights are off at night so you cant charge whilst out or at... More

Stayed here for a week in October. Can't fault the location (right beside the night Market and Jomas) or the room (massive 4 person room for equivalent of €15 per night). Beds were made each day, towels were changed and bins emptied. However it was after paying up front for the week that we were informed that we had to... More

The rooms were very clean and well upkept with wide and spacious beds. At less than 6 dollars, as a solo traveller, i felt that this is the best hostel i have stayed as compared to many other places which are dirty and not as well kept. The staff were very helpful and smiling all the time. The best part... More

Any traveller of the Mekong region of South East Asia will undoubtedly have experienced the 3-day slow boat from Chiang Khong to Luang Prabang. After 3-days on a hot, cramped boat, my partner and I looked forward to a nice relaxing evening in our hotel that we had pre-booked a few days beforehand. Despite receiving an email confirmation, on arrival,... More
