Clean but simple rooms in this friendly family run hotel which has a travel company attached - the proprietress advised us on transport to Vang Vien and booked us on the VIP bus which included a tuktuk transfer. She also advised us on where to eat for my husband's birthday and surprised him with a birthday cake! Breakfast is in... More

The lady running this place is very nice, welcoming and service minded. That is quite rare in Laos, and perhaps the reason why the reviews are so good. The room we had was no more than average, quite small with a small bathroom, and a bit smelly. Breakfast was also average, somehow it is not possible to get a real... More

Rooms are not large. AC works good. Owner was helpful. Airport transfer available at a slight cost (have arrangements made for an airport pickup - meeting your flight as the lines for taxis can be long). Rented a bicycle each day for $2 USD/day. Good breakfast across the street in a grassy area along the Namkhan River. Nearby the monasteries... More

We choose triple room and Mrs. Noir gave us breakfast for 4 pax. Mrs. Noir also gave us many information and arrange our elephant trip. The breakfast super big and very good taste. The number one reason we loved Villa Somphong is because of our gracious hostess, Noi. She was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was small, the bed is on the hard side and the bathroom had no separation between the shower and toilet. Still, we would choose to stay here again when we return to Luang Prabang one day.... Wanted to stay at Nam Khan river side in the old quarter and it should have a balcony overlooking the river . Location: almost at the end of Nam Khan side from the night market but 10 mins walking distance with good restaurants around. Pros: This was my second visit to Luang Prabang and love the old quarter which gives... More

this was a lovely place located just a cross the river; we stayed on the upper Level which I would recommend as the ground level is literally on the street; we had breakfast on the river bank which was lovely; the managers were also very welcoming. it is located just behind the Main Street.

What a delight. Beautifully restored Villa. Room smallish but clean and pleasant. Lovely spot for breakfast across the road overlooking the river. Great breakfasts. Easy walk to town and around. Friendly staff.

Rooms are nice and clean but overpriced and very small. Cable tv reception was spotty. Close to Main Street and good restaurants You can do a lot better by going a couple of streets inland away from the river For less money you can get a much better room Overall the heritage area is awfully expensive. By staying just outside... More
