My husband and I enjoyed a delicious bowl of Lao noodle soup each and used their wifi - great value (15000 kip for soup), lovely breezy shaded verandah and added bonus to have Jan Garbarek playing softly in the background.

This guesthouse is such a great location, short walk to all the sights, bars and restaurants and both rivers. We could even watch Alms giving from a balcony at the front of the guesthouse. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with breakfast included. The staff were friendly, and invited us for beers and to try some local cuisine, which was... More

Very nice and helpful staff. Great place right across two temples. You cannot sleep long, because the tourist Monk parade is here every morning. Room is good, wifi ok, breakfast is ok. Price is quite high, as I paid nearly 40 dollars a night, but everything here is double the price of anywhere else.

The only good thing about this dirty place is the location. Apart from that, the staff is completely useless and he is never in the reception but in a room next to it watching TV or lying on his bed. We stayed there for 2 nights and the room was not cleaned. The towels were not changed, the balcony had... More

I echo one of the previous comments. The staff were pretty much non existant. Very rarely was there anyone at reception and usually they were lying down on beds in a room. It felt very awkward asking them for anything. Our rooms were never cleaned or towels changed. The rooms themselves were decent, balcony was a nice bonus and the... More

We stayed in this guesthouse for 3 nights though it was beneath any acceptable level for this price category. In order to have some space we had booked a family room for both of us. However, apart from the beds we couldn't really use the room : the (very small) cupboard was so dirty and covered with mildew that it... More

We really liked this place. The location is great near some temples and the house is beautiful. The rooms where simple, but clean. What else you can ask for for this price. But the best where the people day. We could leave our backpacks there, when we went to a tour, and after my backpack was broken they repaired it... More

The guesthouse is simple but it has the right ingredients. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and wifi is good. A big advantage is the location, from the balcony you can look at the 'tak bat' (the morning alms giving to the monks) from a distance.

We were disappointed with our stay at Sokxai. While the staff was friendly enough, they seemed disinterested in running a hospitality business and really needed to be pressed / reminded for any service - including breakfast (which wasn't particularly good). Our room wasn't cleaned once during the four nights we stayed there - no fresh towels or bed linen, no... More

we found this place on booking.com, as we were having trouble finding a nice guesthouse to accomodate our family of 5 in Luang Prabang. Good pick! the guesthouse has only 7 bedrooms. We got 2 of them on 2nd floor, one for 2 and one for 3 (family room). The bathrooms were simple and clean, the rooms were disinsectised every... More
