The hotel's location is a bit farther than the main spot of the night market, you would have to walk 10 -15 minutes extra to reach the centre of the night market. But it turned out to be a bliss because it was not noisy when we tried to sleep in our room. If you are sharing a room, their...

An excellent location, you can walk to the river and many restaurants are located near there. Each room is named after a Chinese zodiac sign. Everything in the room works, our room had a lot of wonderful hard wood and it looks excellent. The tub and shower are right in the room with no curtains , but it was okay. They...

In a 'local' neighborhood, nice rooms, clean, well appointed, although a bit dark, very simple breakfast. Nice enough staff (but overall, tourism industry employees in Laos were worth a scientific study).

This hotel was our base for three weeks in Luang Prabang. Every time we came back from a few days up in the hills or visiting the elephant conservation centre, it was like coming home. It wasn't perfect but it suited us very well. We had a spacious room with a bath in it. The bed was probably the most...

It is difficult to comment fairly on this small guest house. When I arrived the temperature was only 8 degrees. I had a 4 night stay. The first 3 nights were very cold in the room. It is a wooden building with no heating despite having a second duvet I was still cold. I am in the snake room which...

Like the rest of Luang Prabang, this is a charming old-ish style building. The rooms are a decent size and fitted out with nice furnishings. My room was quite dark due to the fixed wooden blind design of the outer doors, but that was at least good for sleep-ins. The deep bath is a nice touch - however, the hot...

This hotel was a real find! We were allocated the "Snake Room" - which is not nearly as treacherous as it sounds. Each room is named after an animal in the Chinese horoscope. Our room had a lovely return balcony and a very beautiful stone bath. The good quality toiletries that were supplied meant I could enjoy a one hour...

The small inn is a guest house with full amenities and an extremely friendly, pleasant staff. It is within walking distance of all the major sites and near the spot where the rivers join together. Breakfast included, free wifi.

Have stayed at 4 hotels in Luang Prabang previously including the so called "best", The Villa Santi, but none are better value for your dollar than the Ancient Inn. 11 very well appointed rooms, 6 in one block and 5 across the road, all of an extremely high standard. Lovely clean rooms and the delightful caring staff help enhance your...
