Nestled by the Mekong River, Victoria Xiengthong Palace is celebrated for its spotless premises and cozy ambiance, infused with traditional decor that guests find enchanting. The hotel's location earns high marks, being central to Luang Prabang's historic sites and vibrant markets. While the value is generally appreciated, thanks to inclusive deals, a few guests feel the pricing is steep. Acclaimed for outstanding service, the hotel also boasts commendable amenities, including river-view rooms and a delectable breakfast. However, some guests have noted the rooms can be snug and occasionally encounter reservation issues.

Staying at Victoria Xiengthong Palace in Luang Prabang was like stepping into a royal world filled with history and beauty. Once the private palace of the King, it's now a place where guests can feel like royalty themselves. Located right in the heart of Luang Prabang, it's super easy to explore the city's attractions from here. Plus, being just a short walk from the famous Wat Xiengthong Temple was a real highlight for me. The palace itself is stunning, with intricate details that make you feel like you're in a living museum. And the lush garden with its fish pond adds to the magical atmosphere, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle outside. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share stories about the palace's history and make sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Although there's no pool, I didn't miss it at all with so much beauty to enjoy in the garden. Whether I was taking a leisurely stroll or simply relaxing by the fish pond, I felt completely at peace. Overall, my stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace was unforgettable. With its royal history, stunning architecture, beautiful garden, and friendly staff, it's a truly special place that I'll always treasure.

We stayed in Luang Prabang for 2 nights and glad we picked this hotel. Its the last residence of King (after family abdicated) and loved the location and architecture of the hotel. Its a great central location right on the river so you can walk to restaurants. I would like to thank Mr Thonglome, we had issues with no WiFi in our room and he promptly came and provided a 5G dongle for us to use during our stay. As we had an early departure he arranged for a takeaway breakfast which in all the years of travelling was the best we have had. If you get up early pop into the street outside and watch the daily parade of the Monks collecting food from locals which was a great experience. Can also recommend Tamarind restaurant although you will need to book and the coffee from Saffron cafe close by was the best. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but that had a great choice of food. Beds were super comfy and made a change to have 2 decent size bed side tables with power sockets, for charging gadgets.

Excellent room with a balcony on the Mekong side. Interesting 100 years old film about the living and wildlife in the area shown every evening in the restaurant. The loud karaoke stars creating noice and spoiling evenings by sailing back and forth Mekong should be banned. This is not an issue only in Victoria and Loung Prabang but unfortunately incressingly in many other nice places on Asia.

Very beautiful and comfortable hotel. We reserved the Victoria Suite for six nights. The very friendly and helpful staff welcomed us with cooling towels and chilled tea and a very efficient check in service. We were guided to our second story lodging with a beautiful view of the pond and gardens. The room is quite large as is the sitting area and outside balcony. The bed is wonderfully firm and comfortable as are the pillows. The bathroom is very big and has a strong rain shower and you get lots of fluffy big white towels. Towels replaced often. The writing desk is in a somewhat odd place but we were here to relax. Huge closet with lots of hangers and drawers. Big inside sitting area under a strong ceiling fan. The air conditioning system of the room is very good. Very secure, clean and cozy room. The breakfasts were very good, just enough to choose from and not too much. How about a Mekong River view with your breakfast? Wifi throughout the property worked well. The hotel is well located at the end of the peninsula thus very quiet. Need more towel bars in the bathroom please. I’m not a fan of the top-mounted sink, beautiful but impractical as water seems to always splash over. Also, there are far too many white tourist vans in Luang Prabang. There has to be a better solution to the onslaught of day trippers.

Stayed at the Victoria Xienthong Palace for 4 nights in January. Great location. Quiet, gorgeous renovated ex-palace. Lots of character. Clean large rooms and beautiful restaurant. The gardens & koi pond are stunning. All the staff from reception, groundsmen, restaurant & housekeeping were professional & very friendly. Tre the Manager was always available to attend to any request. I unfortunately cut my finger upon arrival & the front desk staff Mimi, Tre & Youbi looked after me. Mimi organised a driver & accompanied me to a medical clinic & again 2 days later to change the dressing. She was exceptional. Patient & kind. All the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I can’t thank them enough! I totally recommend this hotel if you are visiting LP.
