nine days and nights at this absolutely charming small hotel in LPB left me wanting more. grounds are beautiful and well-maintained; facilities are more than adequate for sight-seers and those that wish to get away alike, location on the river is breathtaking, rooms are clean and spacious, bathrooms function well and have all the basic amenities, food, a combination of...

A magnificient property bang on the Mekong. The 1st floor deluxe rooms overlooking the river are fabulous for their views. The hotel upgraded us to one of these rooms....good service, gardens, and front desk. The hotel is a bit far from town and the limitation of a few shuttle trips every day is a bit bothersome. The gardens and the corridors could be...

Breakfast selection was poor for a hotel of this standard, dinner was good better than any of the meals I had in the town.Luang Prabang although interesting falls well short of its description as one of the worlds most beatiful cities I wonder where the investment from the...

Stayed at this hotel with our friends in March 2008. The hotel is on the river and it is very relaxing sitting in the restaurant beside the river. Hotel room was clean and the bathroom quite large with good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was really good with plenty of selections. Swimming pool is big and very clean although...

Having been put off by some of the comments on these pages, I tried to change this hotel for my stay in Luang Prabang. I was pleased I did not change as the location, grounds and helpful staff made this stay for my group of 4 adults and 2 teenage boys really memorable. We stayed 5 nights. The distance from...

We spent 5 days at the Grand. It was a very peaceful stay. We had a lovely suite for 3 persons with a beautiful view of the activity on the Mekong River. The gardens are beautiful and the new pool is absolutely lovely and a welcome reprieve at the end of a day exploring. The distance from town is a...

I seek out the “wow” experiences and I encourage you to view hotels I have stayed at and their respective reviews (by clicking on my name). LOCATION: Excellent f or view of...

The Grand has a really quite glorious location on the banks of the Mekong. If you arrive as I did at night, you'll awake to a wonderful view of the garden, river and hills beyond. All rooms are facing the river. All around the hotel are delightful gardens and sculptures, creates an atmosphere of relaxation. Outside noise is virtually non-existent....

It's true that this hotel is outside town and the shuttle bus is very irregular, however, given that tuks tuks cost $1-2 for the trip into town and are readily available this is really not a problem. The journey to and from the hotel through the local village was one of the highlights of my trip. The room was clean...
