We stayed at La Residence Phou Vao for 3 nights and it was beyond our expectations. Luang Prabang is a wonderful place. The temples, nature and people are all are mystical. My husband and I call it the new Marrakech. Please visit before it is too late. La Residence is a heavenly oasis after sight seeing in the heat and...

This place is perfect. When I booked my trip to Luang Prabang I wanted to stay a few days relaxing as well as sightseeing, after one heavy week of touring in Myanmar. I arrived at Phou Vou and I couldn't keep the smile away from my face. It was perfect and just what I wanted, though more than I expected....

I stayed for 3 nights at the Residence Phou Vao and was impressed with every aspect of this delightful hotel. It must be said that the restaurant and bar prices are not cheap compared to prices available downtown but the quality is top notch, the service impeccable and the ambience and atmosphere truly memorable. Nothing is too much trouble for...

We stayed here for 3 nights at end Oct as part of a tour in Laos/Cambodia and absolutely loved it. The room was spacious and well appointed, had good quiet aircon, plenty of free hot and cold drinks, and was serviced unobtrusively. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good choice of hot/cold and euro/asian dishes, and really set you...

This was our first visit to Luang Prabang and we were delighted we chose this hotel. It is a short distance out of town, easy to reach by the courtesy minibus or hotel tuk-tuk. We had a complementary room upgrade. The room (suite) was beautifully appointed with balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. The views from poolside are breathtaking. The...

We spent the day here, used the spa and the pool. For two, the day cost us $500. While the pampering and pool were nice highlights, the spa services were only mediocre. We had much better massages elsewhere.

I went to Luang Prabang to visit my girlfriend and decided to stay with Orient-Express. The hotel itself is located in such a amazing area on the top of the mountain. Imagine you have your breakfast with a mountain view, nothing you can find there in Luang Prabang for sure. Surprising me with the hotel transportation, they picked me up...

Booked a romantic three-night getaway after reading about this resort hotel in the New York Times. Getting to Luang Prabang means having to change planes a couple of times, but once you arrive at Phou Vao, you feel you've entered an enchanted spot. Everything here was amazing, the service, the food, the ambience. It's a tranquil, beautiful, quietly luxurious. A...

A really fabulous hotel with attentive ( Sometimes too attentive?) staff, and a great location. Transportation provided to ccentre of town. Rooms were beautiful and gardens a delight. Breakfast plentiful although a little repatative, all in all a great place to relax for a few days when travelling in Laos

We were picked up at the airport and it was a nice surprise to have refreshments, cookies and a cold towel waiting for us in the car. We were upgraded to a mountain view room when we arrived at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our outstanding room. The service was also fantastic and the hotel...

Positioned atop a hill, gazing across the sacred mountains, Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao is an unforgettable place to stay. Its calm, tranquil ambiance echoes that of sleepy World Heritage town of Luang Prabang - former royal capital of Laos - spread out below. Designed in a traditional style, this intimate hotel is gemmed with teak, silk and fresh cotton accents. The hotel's Phou Savanh restaurant is famed for its wonderful French-influenced local cuisine while Doc Champa bar offers guests a range of Laotian and classic cocktails. The award-winning Mekong Spa blends ancient techniques with modern understanding to ensure complete indulgence and well-being and is the first luxury spa in Luang Prabang, Laos. Furthermore the hotel offers a gym, boutique, tours & excursion desk, meeting room and organic garden with cooking class area. The hotel's 34 suites are elegantly furnished with emphasis on local styles and materials. The combination of parquet and traditional Lao textiles creates an immediate sense of peace and space in all suites. Large windows provide plenty of natural light and open onto the exotic gardens.
