Loved this place... We stayed here on the Luang Say river cruise and it was the highlight of the trip for me. The Eco tents were fun quirky. At this time of year it is crazy hot but I found the little solar fans were more than enough to be comfortable but I am from Darwin so use to the...

We stayed overnight here as part of our boat trip down the Meekong river . The tent accommodation was a great experience , it can get very hot though and the little solar operated fans above your bed don't really do much to cool you down . Lee our lodge guide was exceptional he toured us through the local village...

The long boat road from Luang Prabang to Kamu Lodge was enjoyable and breathtaking! The guide, Tong, was fantastic and on call to ensure all our needs were met. His knowledge of the area was immense and we were impressed by his relationships he had with both the locals and staff at the lodge. The afternoon was filled with activities...

This one place you really can and have to switch off, a camp in the jungle on the edge of the Mekong river. The accommodation was a very comfortable tent under a thatched roof. The bathroom is attached and the whole camp is on solar power, so no power points no internet no Mobile phone coverage, so chill out and...

A lovely "back to basics" stay a few hours up the Mekong from Luang Prabang. Recommend a 24 hour stay to unwind and immerse yourself in the local way of life. All staff are from the local village. Very pretty setting. Make sure you visit the local village and especially the school.

My wife and I stayed 1 night in March 2016. We left Luang Prabang by boat on our 3 HR trip up the Mekong River with a 30 minute stop at the Pak Ou Caves approximately 2 hrs into the journey. On arrival at Kamu lodge, the villagers run down the bank to meet and greet you. Kamu Lodge is...

MY wife and I visited Kamu Lodge for only one night 11 Feb 2016 and thought the place was brilliant. We especially liked the guide called Lee who was the most charming man we met in our travels throughout S E Asia. Visiting the neighbouring village and seeing the way people live in a forest environment was fascinating, especially the...

We loved staying here. Kamu Lodge is a 3 hour boat trip upriver from Luang Prabang. That, in itself, is lovely - it's another side to the mighty Mekong than you'd see in Vietnam. Olivier, the French manager, was very welcoming and our guides (sorry I forgot your names!) were very knowledgeable about the area and the local village. We...

First let me be fair to the Lodge. We stayed here during very cold (and windy) weather. Having hauled our own luggage up difficult sandy steps we were met by one of the guides called Lee. He was the highlight of this stay, being knowledgeable, helpful and always trying to be positive. The tents are large, however the Velcro on...

Dear Ref0, It makes us all extremely disheartened when we read the occasional review from people such as yourself that don’t seem to be aware of where they are staying. We don’t in any way try to associate ourselves with “luxury”. Our motto is one of a “Sustainable Village in Luang Prabang” – stating: "Kamu Lodge is a private eco-lodge...

My husband and our daughters 12 and 14 stayed at Kamu lodge on new years eve this year. The accommodation was very high quality. Each tent was on a terracotta tiled cement slab with bamboo beds, mattresses and very clean white sheets. The bathroom within each tent had good water pressure and heat. Lighting at night was adequate. Screens good...

Sitting along the Mekong River, Kamu Lodge offers the unique opportunity to experience slow travel with accommodation in our spacious "African Safari" tents, each with a private balcony and thatched roofs. Our tents provide all necessary comforts and great river views. Using only solar power energy at the lodge, rooms have lights, fans and each has an en-suite private bathroom with shower facilities. The experience includes boat transfers to and from Luang Prabang. Step back in time visiting and getting to know the people from the neighboring Kamu Ethnic Minority Village. Activities include the chance to learn traditional crafts from the Kamu people of net fishing, gold panning and to learn with a "hands on" opportunity of rice planting and harvesting. We also offer traditional massages that complement the experience. Enjoy al fresco dining at the lodge's rustic restaurant in the middle of the rice fields. We serve Lao specialties, offering lunch, dinner and breakfast included in the package. There is also a well-stocked bar, offering a delicious selection of drinks and refreshments. Kamu Lodge is in Yoi Hai Village, a 2.5-hour boat ride from Luang Prabang, tour includes a stop at the revered Pak Ou Caves.
