I was on a tour in Laos and our trip up the Mekong River to Kamu Lodge was a highlight for me. The tent cabins were very comfortable -- each with own bathroom and solar powered hot water. The food was plain but certainly just...More
I generally liked this place. Tent cabins can be tricky to make comfortable, but this lodge succeeds admirably. Good beds, enough space to move comfortably, and even private bathrooms with effective solar hot water. The integration of this lodge with the local village seems to...More
We enjoyed our stay at Kamu Lodge. Our guide took us through the local village and we enjoyed our activities of archery, viewing rice planting, gold panning and learning how to cast a fishing net. Our tented accommodation was comfortable with pleasant views. I had...More
Disappointment; a wrong choice from our side. Perfect for (young) adventurists and families with children who will enjoy the activities (archery, fishing, gold panning and planting rice). Tents are basic and dark and each tent has a toilet, shower and sink. The cabins are located...More
Our trip to Kamu Lodge was a real pleasure from the boat ride to get there to the place itself. Greeted by the manager Olivier - a real star, fun and full of information - we spent only 24 hours at the lodge but it...More

Hi - children are more than welcome to stay at Kamu Lodge, the thing to be mindful of (as the other traveler has suggested) is that the only access to and from the lodge is by boat. It's a steep walk on sand from the boat to the village area, however it's manageable for kids and our staff are on hand to assist as needed. Also need to be aware that there is only solar power to supply the hot water in the bathrooms and any electricity on property. The facilities in the tents are comfortable and on a terracotta tiled floor - the 4 of you would share in the same tent. The bathroom has a shower with no bathtub. "Tents 2,3 and 4 are in sheltered positions, under trees providing good shade and a view towards river."
