Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is often celebrated for its opulent atmosphere and luxurious amenities, including a praised spa and attentive poolside service. While guests admire the spacious rooms, some feel they are outdated and poorly maintained.
The hotel's meticulous cleanliness generally impresses, yet its location receives mixed reviews, with the seclusion appreciated by some but found inconvenient by others. Although the service is frequently commended for its friendliness and efficiency, concerns are raised about value, with many travelers questioning the high costs relative to the quality of service received.

We stayed at this hotel on a half board basis for 5 nights over New Year. The hotel and surroundings are lovely, very well maintained and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
We spent our days on the beach (when it was warm enough) the beach staff work very hard to ensure you have drinks and food if desired. They will reserve your Sun Loungers for you, there is a button on the table next to your sunbed where you can press for service or request your bill. You are able to use your half board at lunch time if you would like to and have 609 aed each to spend.
Breakfast wasn’t the best we have ever had. A little disorganised, butter was out to help yourself to one day and the next day it was no where to be found. We were told you now have to ask a member of staff for butter. As you can imagine this isn’t ideal when you’ve already toasted your food as by the time you get the butter your food is cold! Someday there were little pots of ketchup out again others you had to ask for it which could take some time! On our last dat there was only one toasting machine working, a hotel of that size could do with two toasting stations.
The big disappointment for us was our interconnecting rooms. The rooms are overdue a makeover. Our curtains were frayed and showed severe signs of wear. Our bath couldn’t be used as the plug never pushed down to seal the water in. There is an incredible lack of light in the rooms, they are very dark. Our toilet and shower were partitioned by a screen, they’d been re sealed so many times it looked an eye sore and did look dirty. I took the shower head off the wall one evening up to rinse the shower tray, the holder was filthy like they’d forgotten to clean it.
NYE - If you’re paying to join in the hotel’s celebrations do not pay for a poolside table. You might as well pay that little bit extra for the lawn side table. The poolside table is completely dis jointed to the rest of the celebrations. You have to walk bet the bridge for your food and back. You will also watch the entertainment from a screen as you cannot see the stage. The staff however were fantastic, couldn’t fault the service as was the good it was delicious.
This hotel also isn’t in the best location, it’s right at the end of the palm, during Christmas/NY the traffic can be worse than normal and can be problematic getting on/off the palm.

My family and I stayed at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray for 6 nights in mid October and had a fantastic stay! This was our first time in Dubai and I'm so pleased that we chose to spend it at the JZS.
There were so many highlights across the hotel, that really seperate the Zabeel Saray from other five star hotels we have stayed at, it is difficult to know where to start. As we were celebrating a birthday, we we were a bit extravagent and booked a two bedroom suite for our trip. What we didn't appreciate until we were showed to our room by the friendly and super efficient William, was just how roomy the suite would be! Both bedrooms had their own massive bathrooms (which is something that the hotel doesn't highlight well on their website- we were under the impression we might have to share a bathroom), with baths in each large enough to be called a 'kids pool' in other hotels. Aside from the bathrooms, the two bedrooms rooms were really well laid out, with plenty of storage space, a fully stocked mini bar and with both rooms having beautiful views over the front of the hotel out towards the sea and the Dubai eye. In addition, the sitting/dining room that you enter the suite from is really spacious and also has it's own bathroom. Three bathrooms in one suite was definitely a first for us!
We were fortunate enough to have the benefit of the incredible Club lounge team as a benefit of our room choice. Mr. Muthu Krishnan and his team (including Wai, Alex, Rose and others whose names I didn't get) did a fantastic job of looking after us all during our stay. Whether it was the during the private breakfast, afternoon tea or 'drinks and canapes' sessions, nothing was too much trouble for them. This level of outstanding 'genuine' service is very difficult to find, so a big thank you to the whole club lounge team for going the extra mile for us. Other than the rooms and the Club lounge facility, the other really positive aspects of the hotel for us were the half board package (allowing us to eat not just in the 5 excellent restaurants within the hotel, but aslo around 15 other restaurants across Dubai using the 'dine around' half board service). On one evening we travelled down to the Souk Madinat and enjoyed dinner at the Trattoria Toscana Italian resturant for a change. The Pool and Beach areas were kept incredibly clean and tidy, with the highlight of the beach for our two teenagers being the lemon ice lollies that were brought round for all guests a couple of times a day. We even had the chance on our last day to experience the private cinema that is located within the hotel. This is beautiful wood pannelled room, with around 15 plush seats set out to watch films that are shown at set times of the day. We had the whole place to ourselves at 5pm and really appreciated the freshly made popcorn and bottles of water that were offered to us by the concierge team just as the film started. There is little that we would say needs to be improved by the hotel. The facilities are excellent. The rooms large and well appointed. The plentiful staff all seem geninuelly keen to help wherever possible, making such a difference to the guest's enjoyment.
Our only regret was not being able to finish all the delicious food that was on offer from the resturants. Maybe the portion sizes could be reduced?
The real litmus test of a family holiday is whether you would go back to the same hotel in the future. As a family we have never done this before, yet for us, the answer was a resounding and definite 'YES' for the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray!
Tips:- - The rooms/suits on the 4th - 6th floors overlooking the hotel entrance areas have fantastic views and are nicely quiet if you like to sit out on the balcony and watch the boats drift past as the sun sets. - Try the Club lounge. The team are incredible and it is definetly worth the extra cost. - Be prepared to get taxis into the main sights of Dubai, at busy times this can take up to 45 mins due to traffic on the Palm.

Just returned from a break with family . We arrive early 5.30 am and were made to feel welcome straight away, greeted with a smile, coffee and croissants . Checked in seamlessly. Our room was huge 2 queen beds and an enormous bath !!! The room is well stocked with a mini bar (chargeable) plenty of bottled water (free) and loads of toiletries. We stayed on a half board package . This gives you breakfast and either a choice of lunch or evening meal. The hotel has several restaurants that you may choose from (you need to book especially on a weekend). You may also use lots of other restaurants that are in the Jumeriah group , just ask reception and they will gladly help. They have a sports bar also which has happy hour 17:00-19:00 , selected alcoholic drinks are 2for1. We’d like to give a special mention to Said who looked after our room , could not fault him one bit, room was always clean and tidy, and always well stocked with water etc . Another mention goes to Babu and his beach team , again they are excellent and cannot do enough for you , always smiling, cold face cloths , iced water ,sun tan lotion, Ice lollies , sunglasses cleaned , nothing was ever a problem . They’re brilliant !! We’ve stayed in a few Jumeriah hotels in Dubai and this is up there with all of them . The only thing we could find wrong is the location but taxis are cheap , 20-30 mins you can be pretty much wherever you need to be. We would definitely stay here again, the rooms are a great size , the food is excellent, the service is fantastic and nothing is a problem. If you have an issue is generally resolved straight away !!! Overall we would 100% recommend this hotel . So much so we’re looking to book for next year .

Most reviews are incredibly negative so i hope this is more balanced.
Staying here off the back of a St Regis hotel stay and comparing to previous Jumeirah stays, highlighted the stark differences in customer service.
When booking the Zabeel Saray, by expectations were that it would be very much like the Mina Al Salam (another Jumeirah group hotel) however this was far from the reality. From the barrage of emails prior to the stay, the poor pre-check in experience, coupled with the poor service on arrival, my first impression of this hotel was poor. I would highlighted at this point the hotel did allow my wife to check in way earlier than the prescribed time which was very good and extremely helpful.
The rooms are dated and rather dark. The hotel was built in 2011 and not sure on when and if the rooms have been renovated in this time. That aside, the room was presented nicely and we were gifted with a bowl of fresh fruit and plate of chocolates. This was a lovely surprise even if the welcome card was addressed to a different guest. When i presented this to the front desk, there was no acknowledgement of the mistake which for me, if you are going to the effort of those little details, make sure they are right given the amount of money guests are paying.
The bed is comfy and the bathroom large with a bath that can only be compared to as a swimming pool :)
The turn down service in the evening is nothing short of funny. As mentioned at the start this stay was off the back of a stay at the St Regis some 100km down the road which, for their turn down service, pull the cover back, place a rectangle cloth on the floor by the bed and lay the slippers. in addition a small card on the pillow offering breakfast is something you could describe as good up selling. in contrast the Zabeel Saray throw the slippers (still wrapped) on the floor by the bed and place the water bottle that is already in the room by the bed. For a 5* hotel there needs to be more attention to detail.
While the hotel on check in, held the amount for the stay and incidentals on my card, they also charged the cost of the stay again to my card when i checked out. Be careful when you check out that the hotel use the amount they have on hold.
All in all i would say the hotel is nice with a fantastic view of the Palm, good facilities and in general nice staff. Here comes the negative.... the attention to detail falls short when comparing to other hotels even ones within the Jumeirah group. The staff on the front desk appeared at times untrained and unsure of what to do. For a hotel experience from booking to checkout i would say there are better hotels in the vicinity that could offer a better experience.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the end of June. Our stay was nothing short of fantastic. From a warm greeting at the hotel, to swift check in at the reception and a well prepared room,
Whilst this was the summer in Dubai and with temperatures around 40degrees Celsius, this did not deter us from swimming at the pool and beach, both of which you have great service. They bring you complimentary ice cold water and no request is too great, good food and drinks.
The main restaurant staff are also great, we ate dinner and breakfast in the main buffet area. They were easily able to help accommodate a gluten free dietary requirement. There was a food option to suit everyone. They do also have a few specialty restaurants on the premises which will require prior booking
The location of the hotel is also great on the West Crescent of the Palm, there is an abundance of taxi's near by and you do not wait long if you book on the Careem App. It is about a 5min Taxi ride from the Atlantis Hotel.
The hotels WiFi network is also good and speeds are fast, you have WiFi throughout the hotel, even on the beach right up to the water.
The overall hygiene of the hotel is top notch, there are constantly people cleaning and neatening items. The toilets around the hotel are spotless as well as room service doing two runs through each room, an early morning and an evening turn down.
The guest relations also gets in touch from time to time through out your stay to make sure you are happy, all is ok and if they can do anything to help improve.
All in all, the best hotel that I have stayed at in Dubai over the many years.

We have just returned from a week at Jumeriah Zabeel Saray (2 Adults & 2 children ages 6 and 3). I wanted to write a review because we were blown away by how amazing it was.
The rooms are huge & spotlessly clean. Housekeeping cleaned the rooms to such a high standard every day.
Every single person who works at the hotel are so hard working and bend over backwards to make your stay perfect. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed and looks so palatial. The restaurants are wonderful too. The pool and beach areas are the perfect combination of being child friendly, but also feeling luxurious for adults. The staff constantly bring round ice lollies and water. Pool service for food/drinks is efficient too.
The only even slightly negative thing i could say was that the hotel is a little bit further away from some of the attractions/restaurants that we visited as it is on the edge of The Palm. However, we knew the location when we booked, and with taxis being fairly cheap, it wasn’t a problem. Everything in Dubai is quite spread out so you would probably find this to be the case wherever you stay. The area that the hotel is located in is beautiful.
I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. We will definitely be returning when we visit Dubai again in the future.

We stayed at JSZ in January for 10 nights with our baby girl. This was our second stay and it was not comparable to our first stay 6 years ago. There was issues with our room when we arrived so the first day was us waiting to get another room. The reception kept promising it won’t take long but we ended up waiting until 5pm that day, basically loosing a full day. The minibar was completely empty when we got to our room and it took the staff 6 days to fill it up after we asked for it twice every day. We asked to talk to the manager which was completely ignored. The house keeping team left our door open and unlocked after cleaning the room. On our second last day we received a welcome card (way too late) and some chocolate which had insects on the plate. While checking out the manager all of a sudden wanted to talk to us and gave us a AED 200 discount, which didn’t make up for all the issues we had unfortunately.
We did love how specious our family room was and I personally love hotels that don’t have carpets in the room. But won’t be staying there again. What they charge per room does not relate to the quality and is highly exaggerated. The management does not care about their guests at all. I’ve stayed in much cheaper hotels where we got treated a lot better.

We are really grateful for the hospitability and attention to details on our requests from hotel staff & management. Everything went by smoothly and we are happy with the Jumeirah experience. Upon arrival, we waited for 2 hrs to check in and finally got the room by 4pm. It was clean and beautiful, with welcome complimentary fruits and cake as per my request. We love the huge and comfy bed and of course the spacious tub which can accommodate 4 people was a highlight. We love the complimentary access to the the Talise Ottoman spa. The indoor pools, sauna, steam, jacuzzi, and resting lounge with free ginger tea and cashew nuts and dried apricot. We love the smell of the Amouge toiletries. The experience is relaxing and rejuvenating. The restaurants are good and offers variety of options - japanese, american, lebanese, latin food. It is of course quite pricey as compared to dining out from the hotel. Also, we are surprised by the prices of the in-room-dining meals, it is quite expensive. As for the breakfast, it is good when we went earlier by 830 am as it is less crowded. It offers good variety of food. It got so crowded after 930 am and people started standing on long que lines with upset looks. The hotel should provide bigger area to accommodate all the seating for the guests. The outdoor pool is huge, but somehow it is overcrowded with kids. There should have at least separate outdoor pool for adults only. Also, the beach was full of weeds and not that clean so nobody gets inside the seawater which is sad. It could be nice to have a clean swimmable beach as well.
Overall, the great highlights of our stay is the excellent customer service of the hotel staff and management, quick response of the E-butler service, clean & spacious room, delicious breakfast, and one of the best Spa experience!

Our last visit to this hotel was in 2017 and we had noted that standards had dropped dramatically and the client base had changed quite markedly. We no longer felt that it was for us.
This year, I booked the last few days of our stay in Dubai at the JZS as we have missed staying there and were curious to see if anything else has changed or improved.
We were sorry to see that the rooms are still very dark and somewhat depressing. In addition to this, the floor was badly scored, the thermostatic control on the shower was uncontrollable, the curtains were torn and crudely sewn, the toilet did not flush properly, the bathroom light switches did not work properly, the bathrobes were frayed and mismatched with the wrong belts and the balcony sliding doors did not lock.
Furthermore, there seemed to be a troublesome guest in a room near ours who proceeded to keep slamming the bedroom door at 2, 3 and 4am every morning.
We feel that having a security patrol on each floor as there is on the ground floor would be beneficial.
We had club lounge access which we really enjoyed despite the very early finish times for the evening service.
We also noticed the reduced buffet selection and the wear and tear in the still impressive Imperium dining room.
Conversely, we found the staff friendliness and helpful attitude, not forced in any way. They all seemed genuinely happy and proud to be working at the JZS. Nothing was too much trouble.
What really stood out was the various offerings by the beach staff including at least 2 ice lollies, a piece of fruit, a sun glass cleaning service and ice cold towels every day to everyone on the beach.
As Muthu Krishnan said, it is the little things that make the difference. This is so true and set the JZS apart from the increasing competition in Dubai for this reason.
The hotel employs a wonderful team at the hotel and we were so impressed by:
Amaury, Chatura and Jagdesh from the Bell hop / concierge team
Parmi from Imperium
Jennifer from the club lounge
Babu from the adult beach area
Rani - our excellent housekeeper
Muthu - the Assistant Club Lounge Manager and our saviour when our red eye flight got cancelled by BA!
Based on this stay, we absolutely cannot wait to come back next year to stay at the JZS.

Had a fantastic 2 weeks again at Zabeel Saray. The staff are as always very attentive and helpful and for this reason this was our 3rd stay and each time we have been left impressed by the service we have received.
We would like to thank the following people for their outstanding services and professionalism. Firstly, Zaid from the front desk sorted out our check in very efficiently and gave us a very warm welcome. We had a small issue with the room, however Leavana from guest relations and Nissanka from front desk management managed to resolve this issue very swiftly. We are very grateful for this.
We would also like to thank the fantastic bell boy team, Sunil and his peers are always very helpful and kind each time we have left or returned to the hotel, Thank you very much.
Also the limousine drivers outside the hotel have been very kind and always very knowledgeable, especially our driver Usman who became our regular driver, very patient and very reasonably priced and extremely friendly and professional driver. Thank you Usman for driving us around we felt very safe with you.
The Amala Resturant was very impressive and impressive service as always, Prajeesh and his team were excellent and the food was great!
The housekeeping during our stay was fantastic, especially Mr Wahid and his team were very attentive and always available upon request. thank you.
We were blown away by the impressive room service recieved, especially the private dining team, Mr Ijaz was fantastic, the professional service that he provided was outstanding.
Breakfast at the imperium was a treat every morning, the team were great host especially Muneesh and Sanjeev who were always paying attention to each of our needs.
The life guards and pool staff at the swimming pool do an amazing job each day in the extreme heat, Thank you all you made our experience great by making us feel safe in the pools.
Our check out was also dealt with very swiftly thanks to Sana, Sana was very knowledgeable and managed to deal with everything very impressively, we were very impressed by her professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble for her, thank you Sana you are remarkable.
The only criticism that we would like to make is that the rooms are very dated and worse for wear, it would be great if these were modernised and updated, and kept up with the fantastic image and service that the hotel provides.
We are looking forward to our next visit.

Have stayed at all 3, JBZ would be my choice, although Fairmont has a better location on the base on the Palm. JBZ, you have more options for dining if you are HB as you can use the other Jumeriah Hotels.
There are more places to choose from in the Dubai area.
