My flight to Dubai was cancelled due to unrest in the Middle East without the possibility to reschedule for several days. I reached out to the Hotel asking for a refund given the situation and was denied after providing all the supporting documentation they asked. I understand their cancellation policy but given the situation was totally out of my control I would appreciate some understanding.

Hotel's Favourite
So my first return to dubai since the world came to a standstill in the spring of 2020. It had to be the JZS, although I have lost track a little, I think this was visit 12 or 13 to the hotel. Even better with emirates flying out of Gatwick again and so no need to endure the M25! I knew in advance that some things had changed… the hotel car that used to transport the club room guests was gone (thankfully emirates stepped in there…) and the club room has moved again in the hotel, this time to the Turkish restaurant (never really liked it, so happy that’s has gone, not so sure about the club room…) the shuttle bus to the mainland had gone before Covid, but it made you notice that taxis had gone up in price! Less well known the daily newspapers gone, no sign of press reader (the usual digital alternative), and the lovely shower amenities now come secured to the wall like a travel lodge. Making it impossible to have a bath and get clean as there were no gels on the wall by the bathroom! And no turn down chocolates… but you do get a bookmark every night! Thankfully some good things remain… mainly the staff… they really do want to help. Some stand out and make you most welcome, others stand out, sadly as they don’t. Maybe new to the job, maybe not feeling the Jumeirah stay different way? Although there are notable fewer staff in some areas, I know hospitality recruitment in the Uk has been hard post covid, I imagine Dubai is the same. It’s clear that the hotel was very busy, I wonder if they may be overselling the club side as on many occasions it was tricky to get into the club room. This will be solved when it goes back to its original home in what was most recently the grill room I think. Breakfast was a little lacklustre in the club room (but imperium was superb) and when you could get a table the choice of cocktails was much improved from previous visits. Less good was the afternoon tea that was at best “perfunctory” the days of more than the slightly too firm finger sandwiches, scones and cakes long gone. I do fear that I had hoped for too much, having missed the hotel since Covid. It’s not been my first holiday since Covid, but maybe I just expected too much. The hotel still smells and looks amazing, the pool is fabulous but the rooms are starting to tire and the stripping out of most soft furnishings in rooms post Covid has made them less opulent somehow. So as to the staff that stood out… There were many, sorry I didn’t get all the names. But Sunil on the door as true gent, always there to greet and assist and look after you. Good to have a long-standing team member there. Rajendrah by the pool once more looking after your every need, even when I asked, as I may have done to sit in the shade but also the sun at the same time. He knew where I meant! Nothing was too much and in the extreme heat he always made sure all was well and provided plenty of iced water. Muthu in the club lounge was a consummate professional. I feel he was doing his best, and it showed. He was always working hard, His team were not perhaps at their best, but it’s clear that he was trying to help them. Hopefully the return to the original Club room will give him a better facility that he can excel in. I’m typing this after a truly relaxing week and know that I’m a lucky person for being at the JZS once more. I will return. Please don’t feel my comments are critical, it’s more that when you love a hotel as much as I love this one, when something isn’t quite right it feels worse than it should.

Lovely hotel if you want to stay in the hotel. Location was not the greatest for seeing the city. Tours picked us up at the hotel but there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance of the hotel. We therefore had no choices outside the hotel for food or shopping unless we took a taxi or Uber.

We stayed at the JUMEIRAH ZABEEL SARAY in September 2023 for 10 nights. The service from the Hotel was Excellent from the minute we arrived and the welcome we got from the Staff and The management was wonderful as we have stayed at the hotel a few times .We were welcomed by the Reception Manager Karine and William. We have stayed at the Hotel before in 2017 2018 and 2019 . The staff are great and very friendly and very helpful if you needed anything they would do there very best to help you with your needs . We booked the Club room package which was Excellent value. We were greeted by Jamaica Sana and Selina Dudhraj Joseph and Patricia in the Reception Area every morning. And in the Club room by the Club room Manager and his staff. Alexandra who was training was very professional in booking us in to our Rooms and showing us around. Every morning in the club room we were greeted by Rozyta Bobeta Sarah and Alexandra when we went to breakfast. The Rooms Are Lovely and very Spacious well set out ,great views from the balconies, Beds were very comfortable, with all in room amenities . We received Complimentary fruit every day in our rooms. The Swimming pool area and the Beach were great everything was well set out . The Restaurants in the hotel were great and well staffed and set out ,the food was excellent we had a different restaurant every night for our meals. This Hotel is one of the best that we have stayed at in Dubai. We will be returning again in September.. We would highly recommend this hotel....

An excellent short break with my family in the beautiful Zabeel Saray. The staff are incredible and nothing is too much trouble. We went half board with the club lounge option, and the attention to detail in the club lounge from the staff was phenomenal. The food choices are great and it is nice to have a few different options. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean. We used the beach which again was amazing and small details like cold towels and ice lollies were given during the day. The sports bar is again manned by incredible staff, who really make you welcome. Thank you Zabeel Saray for an incredible stay and I will definitely be returning.

Let me start by saying I'll probably get a copy and paste response - "we will feedback to the relevant departments". I hate writing bad reviews but anyone booking I want you to be aware. 1. They sell day passes to outside guests which means they use the facilities for free but have a minimum food and drink spend. They kept selling these passes even when the hotel was full, resulting in no sunbeds and poor service for hotel guests. Felt like I was in Benidorm waking up at 7am to secure a sunbed. When I spoke to three managers about it, I was told they are not selling day passes because the hotel was full (the guests around the hotel told me differently), I went on the Jumeriah website and guess what I booked day passes. The Fairmont stopped day passes due to being full and the only place you could book them was here, so they ended up with double the number of day visitors. 2. Service by the pool is bad. Order your food 45mins before you want it. The call button is either not working or the staff just ignore. My wife is vegan and was given a meat spaghetti. 3. In the room you would need to call two or three times for the same request before it got done. 4. There is a blame the guest culture here. "You should've asked before you arrived" is what I got told when I arrived to one bed to sleep three children. 5. There is a lying culture here - "we did not promise to move your room, we told you we would try our best" - I have a WhatsApp message that proves what was said. The lying continued "no we are not selling day passes" - proof i have an email with a day pass booking. 6. Check in - long queues. No nice welcome after being on a 7 hour flight with 4 kids. It was just painful. 7. Overall they have very poorly trained staff. The service is just poor. The woman at the fruit counter at breakfast - particularly poor attitude. Chopping that watermelon after ignoring you five times doesn't leave you overall happy. Now I must add after constantly complaining they gave us credit on the room, but that's not what i want! £250 hotel credit when I've spent £12k on a holiday is not ok. I would like what i paid for, not a freebie. Priya at breakfast was fantastic! The restaurants including Amala was fantastic. Rooms are clean and well stocked. Kids club was fab! Overall not a 5 star. the hotel lets down the Jumeirah group big time!!! The leadership and management are to blame. Chloe Greenwood – no where to be seen & the management block you from speaking to her

So, this is without a doubt a lovely hotel, stunning rooms, great public area, good beach, great restaurants, BUT it has become mind bogglingly expensive. Despite being half board and only one of us having mid day meals we averaged £200 a day on a couple of drinks with dinner and perhaps one during the day. For example a bottle of water with your meal equates to £13.50, and it manages three glasses - that’s £4.50 a glass and that has to be a world record. Also, as the week went on and the hotel became full there were no sunbeds to be had - just frustrated people on the beach wanting to sit down. So when full elements of the hotel creak. We’ve been to this hotel several times but I think it’s been found poorly wanting this time round.

Great hotel , food was terrible . Super rooms , very nice , clean and very luxurious. Lobby ground floor full of things to do restaurants and shops . Staff friendly . Big let down was the food . Buffet was really poor , the beach bar did a superb breakfast but dinner was a massive let down . Slow and poor quality . Kids ordered pizza that was inedible and we couldn’t wait for desert at 10:30 . Half board was a big mistake other than that good hotel

Welcome to the luxurious Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, where every detail is imbued with Eastern magnificence. My stay at this luxurious hotel began with an impressive entrance adorned with exquisite elements of Eastern design. Golden hues and luxurious patterns created an atmosphere of abundance and opulence that accompanied me throughout my stay. The hotel rooms amazed with their comfort and sophistication. The cleanliness and beauty of the space were captivating, and it was especially delightful to spend time on the comfortable bed, feeling as if I were drifting into the clouds. Dining at the hotel left the most pleasant impressions. A rich variety of dishes was available at any time of day or night, satisfying even the most discerning tastes. A distinctive feature of this hotel is its superb service. The attentive staff was ready to offer assistance with any inquiries and meet all guests' needs. I especially want to mention the professionalism and friendliness of the reception manager and staff, who were always ready to help and make my stay at the hotel as comfortable as possible. I particularly appreciated the receptionist, Jack, who was always ready to assist if needed, as well as Manager Antuan. In general, a cohesive and professional team deserves respect! The hotel boasts the best spa in the world, where I was able to enjoy a variety of procedures and services aimed at my well-being and relaxation. My stay at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray not only offered a luxurious interior but also stunning views of the city skyline and the famous Palm Jumeirah. Evening sunsets painted the sky in vivid hues, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. And the view of Palm Jumeirah added extra charm and romance, offering exceptional opportunities for photo sessions and evening strolls. I could be confident in the high quality of services, allowing me to create unforgettable memories of my journey. Sincerely, Juri
