Very good hotel and set of activities for us and our boys. One of the best "value for money" in terms of desert resorts in the UAE. Clean, organised and with various types of desert activities. Worth staying for a couple of days.

Great experience! Authentic Arabian Cuisine and very interactive stations for the food. We would highly recommend this place for anyone - well worth the drive to get there. Dining Al Fresco really adds to the experience.

This was a oasis in the desert! Spent a night in this hotel to experience a bit of the desert vibe as we have a baby and 7yo with us and can't really do a desert safari. Best decision! Hotel grounds were amazing and service absolutely fantastic. Would definitely comeback if ever we have a stopover in Dubai.

We visited Bab Al Shams to cap a nine day trip in Dubai. It did not disappoint. The service, cleanliness, and beauty of this resort left us wishing we had more time in the beautiful UAE. One person who specifically stood out, was our Shisha specialist Mohammed. He was incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we had the best time...

I had the unbelievable luck to land a job as a teacher from 2009 - 2012 in a town 1,5 hours southwest of Abu Dhabi City. I used these 3 years to travel around when I had a free weekend. I travelled all over the UAE, and I visited almost all interesting places. Instead of visiting the big hotels in...

We booked as we thought this hotel seemed the perfect place for a romantic stay and we wasn't disappointed. Loved the huge bath and room. The food was lovely. The pool area was immaculate and all staff were excellent. Only problem was we didn't see the sunset as there was a sandstorm but we will be back to see it.

With a lovely room and wonderful pool our first visit to Bab was wonderful. Helpful staff as well as the obligatory tourist visit to the Arabian Buffet for evening meal accompanied by belly dancers and traditional music made for a very enjoyable evening. It’s a very beautiful hotel but the 5-star service ends after you walk past the lobby. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
