Loved every bit of it! From Al Hadheerah dinner to our photo shoot, this was an amazing place! Very different from a usual 5 star hotel, this resort had a very earthy feel to it. We got upgraded to a deluxe room, staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is a treat for photographers n instagrammers! Woll definitely return...

Be careful if you want to go there for the day. The pool is under construction, they don't tell it to you when you book in advance even when you call the morning. Once you arrive after 40 minutes driving, you have to complain and eventually they will give you a 50 AED discount .. Which is nothing. The pool...

Good experience for our first anniversary with my boyfriend. We drove from Dubai and it was a nice quiet road. Check in was done pretty quickly. The FO team was nice as my bf booked a twin room by mistake but they changed it to a kind bed even if the hotel was fully booked. Nice clean room. Pool was...

Our 5th visit to Bab Al Shams was even better than expected. The service was excellent and we were so well looked after by Hany who went out of his way to make our celebration special. The pool and pool bar must be one of the best in the UAE and the food was very good as is always the...

This is one of a few desert resorts in the UAE (all good ones) and the closest to Dubai. There is another one also close to Dubai, Al Maha, but Bab Al Shams is a bit more affordable and less uptight about dress code, which suited us for this staycation, being long term expats in Dubai. Bab Al Shams is...

I went there with my family and I am so glad to discover it. Hotel is right in the middle of the desert you go from one to another by golf cars. They have a very beautiful terrace with an amazing view of the endless desert. Highly recommended at least for having a smoothie in its terrace

We spent a night in the dessert resort and were pretty happy with our stay. The pool area is nice and is a nice break from city life. The rooms are pretty basic and are bit higher on price. I would suggest to take the day package or just one night stay if you want to cherish the occasion.

Was a kind of like a honeymoon trip and the resort was not doubt the highlight of it. Located in the centre of dessert was it able to produce the fabulous mirage of blue water with golden sandy lining. Camel riding and falconing were both funny though they were quick activities. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
