Stayed for 2 nights prior to our cruise. Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location across the road from the museum. Plenty of shops nearby. Not too far to walk to the metro station which was easy to use and excellent value for money, a fraction of the price of the city tour buses. Rooms well equipped and...

We took a two day stopover in Dubai to break the nearly 24 trip to London and so glad we did. The hotel was recommended and booked by our travel agent and friend. It looks like it is in a dodgy part of the city but in fact it is simply adjacent to the oldest sections of the city straight...

I stayed here for 4 nights as a solo female traveller and felt very safe and welcome. Here is my summary: PROS: -in the old part of Dubai opposite the Dubai Museum and the Grand Mosque - opposite the bus stop for the two main hop off and on bus tours in Dubai - spacious room, large bed, microwave, bath...

We spent 4 nights here, and loved it! The hotel is a little older but that just adds to the authenticity. It is a great location in old Dubai with the Dubai museum straight across the road. This is also a stop for the hop on/off buses, which is very convenient. A short walk down the road is the Old...

We had booked this place through our tour package. The location is away from the main sights but is still located at site where one has more economically value for money options. Their breakfast buffet is good with a large spread. Also with the Dubai Museum across the road, that is a benefit too. We had pick-ups and drops from...

Very comfortable hotel in the oldest area of Dubai. It is across the street from the Dubai Museum. More for the person looking to be in the heart of the city versus at a resort. It is an older hotel, but the restaurants and wifi are excellent.

The only reason this review remains higher is that on balance, the location was very good for us - we walked to the souks, museum, station etc. The downside is the poor service when dealing with issues or challenges presented by guests. Our situation - we paid for a larger 2 bedroom family suite, which sleeps 4 people. Made sense...

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
