I booked 4 nights at the Arabian Courtyard through Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel, based on lots of good reviews and its apparent good value. Knowing I would be arriving late in the night, I called the hotel in the early evening to confirm my room would be available and remind the front desk that I would be arriving late in...

This was our second stay at the Arabian Courtyard so we had a high expectation and were not disappointed in any way. We stayed for 5 nights in an Executive Room and enjoyed the benefits of the Executive lounge with free nibbles and drinks (3) in the evening. The hotel has a traditional Arabian feel and the staff are extremely...

The hotel was really clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. The location is great. It's just across from the Dubai Museum. Walking distance to the textile souks and access to water taxis (Abras) - across the creek is the gold, spice and electronic souks. Also 3 minutes walk to The bastikia ( a tourist destination). About 5 mins walk...

Ideal location to visit old Dubai. Excellent museum just across the road and easy access to the Dhows to cross the Creek to the Spice and Gold area. 10 minutes walk from the Metro. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a good Indian Meal in the Hotel in one of their speciality restaurants.

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
