I've travelled globally for 30+ years and stayed at many unique hotels. I'm price conscious and seek a good value with a level of service that provides a degree of comfort. XVA is is outstanding on every count. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff and well run. I was travelling with a graduate in Arabic language and culture, she found XVA particularly...

Nice and cozy room, I also liked the athmosphere in the hotel in general. Enjoyed the food in the cafe. VERY service-minded and helpful straff. Only thing that made me wonder was that some staff members seemed to be there all day.

XVA hotel was recommended by a friend and we have not been disappointed. Despite the minimalist approach, it really blends the old and new Dubai: ideal location, away from skycraper hotels, simplicity yet close to history, quiet, peaceful, clean, very friendly and helpful staff, magical set up, healthy breakfast. We will definitely book again on our next Dubai stop over....

We live in Dubai but every now and then we still want some time out of the house so me and my husband jumps from one hotel to another...Love the ambiance and those smiling faces of the staff that greeted me and my...

I've been to Dubai several times in the last year and had developed a distaste for it as a souless place without any real character... Until, that is, I stayed at the XVA Art Hotel. It is truly wonderful, has rich atmosphere, and is FULL of character. It's what you always hope the perfect boutique hotel will be. It's in...

My friend and I have been to many hotels from 6 stars to no star around the world, and I could say this hotel can be one of the best hotels we've been to. The hotel itself is located in the old-town city of Dubai, the museum is very close to, not that far from the Metro station, combining with...

Dubai during ramadan isn't the best for sightseeing, the museum was closed as were the surrounding attractions. and of course there's nowhere to drink or eat outside until after sunset. This is hardly the hotels fault but as it's in the heart of the "old town" which is itself nothing but a tourist enclave it was a disappointment. It is...

I enjoyed a relaxing and regenerative yoga weekend here. I exercised well, slept well and ate healthily in good company. Excellent experience.( The courtyard floor where we did the yoga could have been swept more often though.)

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.

A stylish and peaceful boutique hotel, XVA is set within the heart of Al Fahidi quarter, formerly known as Bastakiya, the oldest region of Dubai. Unique for its Persian architectural heritage, its maze-like alleyways and proximity to the Creek, Al Fahidi is viewed today as one of the cultural centrepoints of Dubai. XVA occupies a renovated traditional majilis-style building, boasting original architectural motifs and wind towers and three open courtyards, in which one can relax and soak up the exceptional atmosphere of this heritage space. XVA’s Art Hotel includes twelve boutique rooms, designed by well-established designers and artists from the region. These include Zayan Ghandour, Numa, Nada Debs & Karim Rashid (Gaia&Gino). The XVA Art Hotel is covered in many national and international travel publications. Featured in Condé Nast Traveller as one of the 10 hotels to stay in Dubai and in 2006 as the number 1 “Not To Miss” spot in Dubai, Wallpaper magazine mentioned us as a boutique hotel to stay. Lonely planet listed us twice in their recent Dubai guide as a place to stay and to have lunch.
