Very nice people who run the place... but the accommodations were beyond uncomfortable, even by third world standards. I could not wait to get out. I heard their previous location was a lot better. I'd never stay again. I felt like I was sleeping on a concave wood plank, just waiting for morning to arrive so I could get up....

I saw the pictures of the former hostel when it was on Tercer Anillo Externo street. But they moved about 4 months ago and is now located on Canada Strongest street, it is much smaller, having no swimming pool, hammocks, etc. Nonetheless, the manager was friendly, helpful and patient, and the room was clean. Also, it is right next to...

The housekeeper who runs Los Aventureros is lovely woman who is doing the best she can, given the circumstances. Her staff consists of her two young sons. The (mostly absentee) owner needs to shut the place down and give it a good scrubbing--the windows haven't been washed in years, the pool should be renamed "cesspool," the place is wired precariously,...

After a night flight from Asuncion, we arrived at the hostal very early in the morning for only one night. After struggling a litlle bit with the staff concerning our reservation, we finally got a room with a separate private bathroom (outside the room) which smelled horrible. The room smelled very dusty and moldy, and looked outdated and worn. The...

Tom was most helpful before and during a two night stay. Paid BOB 70pn for a tent, sole use. I liked the tent, it worked well for me. Hot water great, use of common cooking area etc all good. 15mins downtown by microbus No.56, easy when you have done it once. BOB 2. On one hand its remote from centre,...

If you need to catch an early flight and don;t want to pay the high prices that the closest hotels are asking, Los Aventureros is a good place to go. Nevertheless I was a bit disappointed: never before did my expectations based upon pictures gave me such a wrong impression of a place. The room was a little 'aventurero' itself:...

Have spent a day here. Near the airport, and as I had to take a flight next morning, that was what attracted me in first place. Thomas and hist staff are very friendly. Got myself a room with private bathroom, air conditioning, and cable tv. Paid U$ 12,00 for the night. There is also an option to stay in shared...

If you're on a backpacker's budget, but looking for a place with cleanliness, character, safety, and reliable hot water, Los Aventureros is an excellent choice. Having stayed here twice on the way in and out of the city, I'd recommend this place highly for budget travelers. The owner, Thomas, and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the building is...

The owner-run Los Aventureros is a pleasant, clean, and -- as the name implies -- adventure-traveler oriented establishment with just 7 or so rooms of varying size and features. Considering the prices and other alternatives within the 3rd road ring of Santa Cruz, this is a great value for the money. Good restaurants are just a short taxi ride away...
