stayed in room 18 recently. the room smelled great when we walked in (later found a glade plug in behind the couch), appeared clean. the comforter was very old, had cigarette burns in it. we pulled it off the bed. sheets seemed clean. the carpet was filthy, though, leaving my bare feet very dirty. i kept my shoes on most of the time after i realized that. she shower and toilet are in a separate room from the rest of the suite. the sink is outside of that room, with a large counter. the overhead lights were very bright and annoying to me. there were lamps, too. one on each side of the bed, one by the sitting area nearer to the entry. they had a small fridge, bigger than most hotels have, and a microwave in the room. also a tv that swiveled and cable tv. there isn't really a balcony or porch to sit on outside, but i made do with a wider part of the walkway above the office, just to sit outside a bit. there's no view from there. from the end of the hotel closest to absecon blvd, you can see the absecon bay and some of the tall buildings of atlantic city. speaking of atlantic city, it's only about 10 minutes away. that was a big plus for us. the road the lodge is on is a divided highway, but there's a turnaround really close to the hotel, and one just a bit past the hotel on the other side. the staff were all very friendly and helpful. definitely a plus. the area seemed safe, also a big plus. if you stay here, i highly recommend the phoenix diner just down the road a bit for breakfast and lunch/dinner. i also highly recommend roman's pizza, which is also down the road. both are on the same side. both had great service and great food! you can walk down to turner's cove from the hotel. it's at the turnaround, easy to find, right off absecon blvd. there's a few benches there. by the way, absecon rhymes with beacon, even though it looks like you might pronounce it differently. absecon is a fairly nice area, and a lot more affordable than atlantic city.…
We chose this “budget” motel because it has good reviews. I can’t imagine how! This place was filthy, cob webs hanging down from the ceiling, thick dust all over the furniture, microwave and fridge! We wiped everything down and all the wiped were black! Then, we pulled the bedspread down, and there was stained, something crusty on the sheets. OMG! The shower looked like it had never been cleaned. Needless to say, we will never stay here again. It was just so dirty!
I must have checked out the local motels a thousand times; looking for the " right-place". This place does not offer a breakfast. But! it does offer an actual suite: a big room. There is a good bed and then a partition and a sofa with a cocktail table and a dining table with chairs. There are no crowds or rowdy people. It is a mom and pop operation-but-I like that. I had an issue with the microwave; they came with a new one in less than 5 minutes. When I arrived, the heat had been turned on ahead of time; it was toasty warm. It has new carpeting. Everything else is dated. Very , very , clean. But dated. Come to my house.. everything is dated and no where as clean as this place. In fact, the house cleaning lady asked me if everything was "ok". I thanked her for doing a great job. I will be staying here again. It was 60 dollars with the taxes ( no resort fees). a very clean and friendly place.…
Our experience was better than what we expected after reading many reviews. Nothing to impress but everything went fine during our stay. Atlantic city is 10 minutes away by car, there is free parking on the premises.
Close to Atlantic City, room pretty clean. The lady from the reception was a nice person, quick check in and even we had arrived a little bit earlier was no problem. The only bad thing was that in bathroom smells like marijuana... probably from our neighbors :)
Stayed here for two nights. The location is good, easily accessible. The room was average, it was rather clean, but the bathroom was in bad shape. The hotel was quiet, staff was friendly, when we arrived.
Spent one night. Clean. Reasonably comfortable. Easily accessible. Conscientious host. Good price for my emergency trip to South Jersey. If I were on a limited budget and wanted a place to spend the night near Atlantic City, I might recommend it. But if I needed to spend a few hours at the motel each day, this would not be my choice.
Had to stay overnight and did not want to spend rates that were being offered at the NJ casinos. Picked this motel at random. From the time of check in to the time of check out, the owners could not have been more helpful. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast consisted of frozen breakfast sandwich, you heated up in your room and ate at your own table and chairs. Also, packaged Danish, muffins, coffee. Would stay again.
Visited the Executive Lodge of Absecon over the weekend, it was a last minute decision. The owners were very nice and the room was clean , but the room is very dated and smelled of cigarettes hidden by aire freshener. The sheets ,blankets had burn marks from cigarettes, the ac unit was missing knobs and hard to control. They still use a lock and key for room access and not the modern card system. This place needs a complete overhaul to bring it into modern standards.
We stayed here one night, because we didn't have any comps in AC and it was conveniently close to AC as well as a wedding we were attending. It seemed okay online and had decent reviews and for $75 we figured it would be a good deal. The room was kept clean, but had a horrible smell of cigarettes which made me feel dirty. I could not sleep at all, and the bed made my back hurt very bad the next day. When we checked out all of our clothes and suitcases smelled of the cigarettes as well. The woman running the office is extremely friendly and I know they take pride in their motel, but I probably would not stay again.
