We didn't book the place till we arrived at punta arena at 7am. We were able to check in at 7am and got some sleep after flying 21hours non stop. 1. Yes room is SMALL! And green carpet isn't attractive. But able to sleep was our priority and shower works with hot water was a plus though also very small.... More

Walking through the door, I got a pretty weird vibe. We were greeted by a nice lady who showed us our room. The only thing on the door was a pad lock. It was really small, it had two beds, it's own bathroom, and no windows. She then went on about how since we were just walking in she was... More

Though punta arenas is expensive, we found it rather overpriced for this rundown and small room we had. The breakfast is ok, as is the location. 15 euro less and everything would be ok. The proprietor don't speak one english word. But almost nobody speaks english on Chile and Argentina ..

Carmen was responsive to my every need. She stayed up late to accommodate my 2 am (OUCH) arrival, and she was always around and eager to answer questions and give directions for sights and practicalities in Punta Arenas. She even helped me with the purchase of a bus ticket to Puerto Natales. The hostel s 3 minutes walk from the... More

Stayed here in May of '13 for a long weekend. While the rooms are small, the hostal is quite clean and the proprietors were beyond helpful, happily assisting with travel plans and an proffering an invitation to their Sunday family bbq. The hostel's location (2 blocks from the main plaza) was the kicker. A great option for cheap digs in... More

I stayed in this hostel for 5 nights when I made my trip to Antarctica. It was clean and a small single room. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The breakfast was descent. And the location was very close to the main square. I think 50 bucks a night for a single room was fair. Punta Arenas was/is an expensive... More

Hostal El Mirador is a simple, but quite nice place, very close to the main square of Punta Arenas. It is a family-managed B&B and the staff is very nice and very helpful, they made me really feel like at home. The single room I used was small, but cosy, and the bed was very comfortable, I slept so well.... More

I spent 3 nights with my partner in his hostal in January 2011. It has basic and small rooms, even if they put a small TV on the top of a cabinet, which cabinet had no space but 2 plastic cloth hangers in it. The walls of the room are very thin, and I could hear the tooth brushing in... More
