We came for wale watching with Whalesound but they said the whales were not yet there. So we decided just to spend a night at the end of the continent in the hosteria that they run. We like remote place away from lots of tourists and that is exactly what we got!
We booked in Puenta Arena at their office the day before.
The pick up at our hotel next day was on perfectly on time and after 60 km we were dropped at the end of the dirt track. If there is not too much wind, a boat will pick you up for the last 4 km to the hosteria. We were warned that we would have to walk along the beach because of the wind and so we did and we experienced 4 seasons in 1 hour: lots of sun, rain, snow and hail....
We had a warm welcome and spend quiet hours watching the ever changing vista of the Magelhanes cannel, the Cordillera de Darwin and spotted the occasional dolfin. The lighthouse is nicely restored by the people of Whalesound. Beginning of the evening there was the hot tub outside with...
