We stayed there last year and we had a great stay but this year a different story. We heard that the hotel had been renovated but certainly the room we were given was n't! It was only after they heard us calling another hotel that they upgraded us. It is a pity. The hotel is in a great location with...

Lakeside is an average hotel, well located with beautiful surroundings. Even though it rated as 5 stars but not at international level. The hotel is clean but smoking is still allowed at cafeteria and non smoking rooms, hotel guests smoked with their doors opened, it'll really very annoying for the non smoking guests at non-smoking floor. Hope the management will...

We stayed here over the Chinese New Year and it was busy. We hadn't booked in advance as we were moving from another hotel, but we were given a price better than any website and upgraded to executive floor with lake view. Room was lovely with large bed reasonably comfortable and bathroom with small bath and separate shower. It was...

Beautiful lobby. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate. The executive lounge was peaceful. We enjoyed walking along the lake in the early evening. Easy walk to shops and the park.

This is a Chinese 5 star hotel, beautiful, clean, good food, pleasant staff, pleasant rooms. The location can't be beat. Right outside the front door is a lake surrounded by a wide boardwalk. Many different plants, shrubs and flowers add to the enjoyment of an early morning stroll. Room service was very responsive. The "Three Lanes and Seven Alleys" shopping...

While the Lakeside Hotel in Fuzhou may not be my favorite, in our experience, there are not a lot of other options that will appeal to Western travelers. To add insult to injury, we are paying 5-star prices for 3-star quality. The first room we were shown could double as an ashtray. I'm serious. I have never been in a...

This is an average hotel with smells frequent travelers to China will know. It is not as grand or as nice as other newer properties, and I would not stay here again. It is probably acceptable to many in the community, but for those accustomed to a bit more of a refined experience, the Shang is a better bet. The...

I took my girlfriend there for a Valentine's Day treat. She is from Fuzhou, and knows the hotel well. She said she always wanted to stay at the hotel since she was a little girl, when it was the only good hotel in town. She did warn me though that the lower floors were being renovated. With this in mind,...
