For a family hotel in China I think this is pretty overpriced. And the hype about it is overrated too. Booking is almost impossible for foreigners coming in from outside China as you need to do a bank transfer for non refundable deposit! If only they take in Alipay or Paypal! I stayed in the Gulangyu Seashore (Hai An) hotel...

The property is located just a few mins from the pier and many other shops. However, since it's in the beginning of the popular tour route, we could constantly hearing the loud speaker form the tour guide downstair from 7am, and crowds gathering till very late at night, so be prepared to stay up late and wake up early in...

To book the place was already a drama since you have to transfer money from a chinese bank account ino their bank account to guarantee the room booking, so if you are not resident in China, good luck, The reservation staff and also at the hotel speak hardly english. We booked a room for RMB 180,00 since all other were...

Gulangyu island in Xiamen is a popular place to visit. If you can stay there a night or two it is a bonus. The Naya Hotel is in the old German consulate.It has a mixture of rooms, with dorms at 50rmb, standard doubles at 140 Rmb, and then some 'specialist' rooms from 220 to 350 Rmb a night.
