The general impression is that this was a high class hotel back in the 90's. Everything is a bit worn down, particularly the carpets, but the rooms and bedding are clean. The lighting system in the rooms operates from one counsel that doesn't always respond to your touch, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the air conditioning. As with most of Shijiazhuang, toilet paper must be thrown in the trash bin, otherwise the toilet floods. There are also no English television channels available. Though I wasn't particularly bothered by it, I could definitely hear the horns and street traffic from the 7th floor. Despite all of this, I was happy with the spaciousness and the room overall.

Breakfast was entirely Chinese, though they have cereal, toast, and eggs available if you want something more Western. There was nothing particularly outstanding about breakfast, but it wasn't bad. Interestingly, they offer complimentary beers and small liquor bottles during the service...
