Front desk service -- impersonal and rude. Tried checking in twice, once in Chinese and once in English. As an "ABC," I switch to English if the service is lacking. The first front desk clerk said our room wasn't ready. This is strange when the Caucasian couple in front of us actually got a room! We take a stroll come...

Good location. Unfriendly staff even when business conducted in native Chinese. I wouldn't try in English. Had booked "exclusive" room on booking.com. Had twin rather than double bed and turned out to be an internal room with a window looking out into the breakfast area. A second room with large bed was the same. Then offered a sort of uncarpeted...

Stay here 2 nights on the new year eve with family. The hotel is old, not very clean. The only up side is its location, with the river, large square at the front, shopping street literally at its door, and all winter activities for adults and children going all around it. Pros: location Cons: not clean, poor and cheap breakfast,...

Our non-Chinese-speaking family of 2 adults and 3 kids stayed here for 3 nights during the Ice/Snow festival period. The location worked perfectly for us - river right in front, pizza hut next door - what more could one ask for. With the freezing temperatures, it really helped to be in a location where traveling times to attractions were short,...

I was between flights and needed to get some rest before travelling 12 hours on an international sector so I decided to get a room for the afternoon. Perhaps it was because it was just a day room? perhaps I was just unlucky? but it was not good. The room was dark and dingy with a very musty smell. Bathroom...

I stayed two nights at the New Gloria Garden Plaza Hotel, 4th floor, B-Wing in January 2014. Rooms definately need to be refurbished, carpet and walls are dirty and nothing is well maintained. Minibar was empty, but in the evening the room service brougt a yoghurt and a snickers!? At least the heating was working perfectly! Staff at check inn...

The GLORIA HOTEL in Harbin is perfectly situated at the end of the main shopping and commercial street in Harbin, very close to the river. The hotel delivers good breakfasts and has good sized rooms. WiFi available in the reception which can usually be used wider afield in the hotel.

I have 2 young children. Stunk of cigarettes, even had cigarette butts alight on floor of lift. People were smoking standing at reception counter. Would not do concierge service, think must only be for business people. When next in line would not serve you if a Chinese businessperson came to counter and stopped serving you if one came up whilst...

Paid around 800 yuan during peak season and stayed in B part of the hotel. Rooms were a decent size and quite good condition. No view as such and disappointing shower and bathroom. Nevertheless seemed quite good value but don't expect too much. Breakfast was a typical Chinese spread buffet style and pleasant enough. Right next to Songhua river, very...

This hotel was just right when you come for the Snow and ice Festival as walking /sliding on icy streets can be tricky. we arrived at 2AM and were happy to see friendly faces at reception. the first room had an issue with temperature the air conditioning was on 30 C and the temperature outside was minus 29 c so...
