I spent four nights here and was very pleased with the location, A/C, staff, and breakfast. COVID-19 hygiene precautions were in full effect, and the WiFi signal was strong even in my top-floor room located at the back of the building. Everything in the Old City was within easy walking distance, and when the heat and humidity became too much, my room's A/C was a welcome relief. There's a small pool surrounded by lush greenery on the main floor, but don't expect to suntan as the narrowness of the hotel prevents much sunlight from reaching it. Still, it's a serene place to relax. Breakfast is served on the top floor and had both continental and hot offerings--including eggs made to order, and there's a staircase leading up to an open air rooftop terrace. I bought some white wine from the minimart across the street and enjoyed it in the evenings while catching the cool breeze and listening to the street bustle six floors below. My room had a small fridge in which to store the leftover wine for the subsequent evenings. The staff are friendly and most of them speak reasonably good English. Of course, attempts to communicate in Spanish are always appreciated. They'll also arrange a taxi to the airport at a moment's notice. If you see a cute little black lab named Eros, say hi and give him a friendly scratch for me!

Room Tip: My room at the back was very quiet--further away from the street and the elevator

I stayed one night- the last night of a 9-day group tour through Colombia. As usual in Colombia, the staff was very accommodating. My room was quiet and dark (it had no windows-#208), had surprisingly good wi fi, the bed was comfortable and the hot water and A/C were adequate. The breakfast on the 5th floor was standard It was somewhat inconvenient that the only water available was from a large container on the 5th floor. I guess it’s more environmentally sensible for this rather than to use water bottles. I ended up buying water bottles next door anyway since the water is not potable. The best thing about the hotel is its location in the old city. Literally all the sights and restaurants are easily within walking distance. The restaurant does not serve any meal other than the included breakfast. One caveat: as I sat next to the little pool in the lobby talking to a man from Cali, a softball-sized piece of wood dropped from a balcony above and struck my friend on the arm. No real harm was done, but he someone been struck on the head, it could have been tragic.

The hotel is a typical historic property in the heart of posh Cartagena. Nice rooms, breakfast on the roof terrace (views)! Professional and accommodating staff. If you arrive before check-in time you are offered a storage for your luggage and use of a bathroom, which is crucial for a good start of explorations. Rooms are air-conditioned, clean and well equipped. Do not hesitate to play with room temperature. 20 degrees is way too cold.... It is adjustable. The only drawback (?) is that only the bathroom is well lit. Room and the wardrobe are a bit dimmed. The pool is more decorative than suitable to plunge in. But we saw people relaxing in it. So it is personal choice....

For me hot water is important to take a shower after a day in the sun. This hotel have hotwater problem. I do not recommend noisy room with no hot water . This hotel as a perfect breakfast and a perfect location . If you pay a cheap price it is ok , but for the price i paid with bad towels, outdated and noisy room it is better to go at another hotel.
