This place does not have the service I expected. The lobby receptionist was not helpful at all. The rooms were not very clean and to top it all off, it was far from the old city (El Centro). If you visit Cartagena you have to stay in the old city. That is were all the acion is. The only thing...

My experience in Cartagena would have been great if it not for the hotel I was put in. Las Americas is far from town, expensive and service is not that great. If you are going to Cartagena, I would strangly recommend staying in the old city. There are a few excellent Boutique Hotels located in restored colonial homes. If you...

I have to say, that out of all the hotels I have been to, Casa El Carretero is the best. It is a small Bed and Breakfast with all the luxury ameneties of a 5 start hotel. Great pool in the roof and you cann see the old city as you zip a margarita in the roof top pool. I...

Our only other experience with Colombia was San Andreas Island 4 year ago ( also a great place to visit!) I would describe the area as Very Hot, Very Windy,Very Clean, Safe and Modern and...

My parents are from Colombia, but I was born and raised in the US. My husband is American, and I was very apprehensive of bringing he and our children to Cartagena. Well, it turned out to be one of the best vacations we've ever had! We chose the Hotel Las Americas because of the kid-friendly atmosphere that appeared on their...

My family just returned from a week in Cartagena Colombia. I must admit that I had apprehensions with this destination given all of the bad publicity it receives. I must say we were pleasantly surprised at how safe we felt and how beautiful Colombia is. The people are friendly and truly want North Americans to visit. We stayed at the...

I regret to inform all Canadians who have trips booked throught Conquest Vacations that your trip has been cancelled. Conquest has failed, as yet, to advise their customers of this event. I advise you to contact your booking agent to obtain a refund.

I found out today that Conquest Vacations, the only Canadian travel company offering package deals to Cartagena, has cancelled all future departures due to a lack of interest. This is a shame as my wife and had booked for Feb 14th into the Las Americas hotel and we are very upset at this turn of events.
