I was not fan of this hotel. They showed me one room that was decent but the next day gave me a room that had a horrible musty smell in it. The down stairs rooms are exposed to all the noise that comes in from people coming and going during the late night. The staff was very nice and friendly...

Good location. Charming old building, however the rooms need a lot of maintenance. The windows cannot be closed properly, so whatever noise comes from outside or the reception and courtyard will go straight into the room. There was a one centimetre gap under the door so remember to bring your earplugs. Electrical wiring is not done by a professional. I...

We went to Cartagena for a family vacation. The hotel is very well located, close to historic places, restaurants, shopping, etc. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very small. The bathrooms need a lot of maintenance and updates. The room on the first floor gets a lot of noise from the people coming late at night and also...

The pluses: Excellent location, right in the walled portion of Cartagena, within very easy walking distance to many bars and very nice restaurants. Walled area appeared to be very safe, even late into the night. Wifi was very strong, since the wifi router was directly outside my 2nd floor room. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was simple (coffee, a juice, fruit...

Not a bad stay at all. So here's the skinny: This small hotel has only 7 rooms of all similar sizes so heavy foot traffic running through here is rare. I stayed in room 203. Rooms are ample size and well decorated. Hot/cold water with plenty of water pressure in the shower AC worked very well and was often welcome....

We went to Cartagena for a couple of days, the hotel is in the historic area of Cartagena, with many restaurants close by walking distance. The rooms were clean and the staff was very kind. I'm vegan so breakfast was not that good, since most of the options included dairy, but still I would recommend it if you want to...

Great location. The best neighborhood in Cartagena (San Diego): near the center but not in the middle of the crowd. Near great restaurants and other good hotels. Wifi only worked in the reception; no access available from bedroom. We had to go to the reception to connect. It would be great if the hotel had a swimming pool since the...

Casa abril is a nice and quiet place in El Centro Cartagena. It's close to bssicly everything in old town and you can walk anywhere. The inner yard is lovely and a good place to have breakfast. The rooms are very clean, the bathroom is nothing special but spacious enough. The room has aircon, a fan, a safe and a...

We stayed at Casa Abril II for 5 nights and loved it. Yes, the breakfast was basic (fruit, arepa, juice, bread, coffee) and yes, the bathroom was rather cramped, but the atmosphere and friendly service outweighed all that. Jimmy at reception greeted us warmly and continued to offer us great advice and friendly service throughout our stay, even encouraging me...

“There are a couple on the ground floor which look straight into the courtyard where breakfast is served, so if you like lying in late you may be disturbed by other guests, but in our experience people who use this hotel are considerate of fellow travellers.”
