We booked Hostal 25-59 because we didn't want to stay at one of the hostels that line one particular noisy street and are full of party-goers. We thought 25-59 would be a nice place to chill out. Although it was quiet and tranquil, it was just SO HOT. There were fans in both dorm rooms, but no air-conditioning, and the... More

I stayed at Hostal 25-59 for 10 days. It is a small and friendly hostel that's clean, comfortable and safe with all the usual facilities that one needs. The location in Getsemaní is ideal, close to the life and soul of Cartagena but on a quiet street (Calle de las Palmas) so I slept well every night. Sandra and Julian... More

I really enjoyed staying at 25^59 - it's a small, new hostel and there are changes happening daily. Sandra and Julian are really friendly, helpful & thoughtful hosts (organising buses, handing out mango juice etc). There are 2 sweet dogs and a huge rooftop terrace. The location in Getsemani is great - outside the main old town, but still within... More

Cartagena was my first stop in South America after traveling around the USA and I wanted a peaceful place to chill out to prepare for the rest of my trip. I am so glad I found this place it is exactly what I needed. This is a great small hostal on a charming street. It is clean and secure and... More

I was recommended this hostel by a friend who'd stayed here a few weeks before and I wasn't disappointed. It's on a quiet street in the heart of Getsemani, a popular neighbourhood in the old town. It's a few minutes walk away from the buzzing main square, where you can hang out with the locals and their families, or enjoy... More

I stayed here for almost a week because I loved it so much. Cartagena added to it, but the family run hostal was one of the loveliest places I stayed in Colombia. Sandra and Julian are so nice and I also immediately fell in love with the little grandson Domi. It is located on a quiet street in Getsemani (so... More

Owned and managed by Julian (who speaks English) and his mum (who doesn't) the hostel opened only a short time ago. It is in 'Calle de las Palmas' which is in the heart of Getsemani right near the 'square, the centre of what goes on in the area. It's not just a bed for the night, it is the warm... More

This hostel has 8 beds so is very small and homely. Sandra and Julian, the owners (and mum and son) treated us very well, Julian helped us to try and get tickets to the rosario islands at a good price and is an expert at anything you want to do in Cartagena and beyond. Sandra made us feel very welcome.... More
