The location of The Wandering Paisa (Laureles) is great, as it's not completely overrun with tourists and rich locals like Poblado. The hostel has a great vibe, and a bar that offers drinks at good prices. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the free salsa lesson on Tuesday night. However, every night in our dorm...

I went to Medellín and stayed at this The Wandering Paisa for four nights which was way too many. When I went to Medellin it was "puente" in Colombia (Monday was a bank holiday) which is why loads of people took a long weekend in the city. If I had the option I'd probably have moved to another hostel but...

I wish I could have stayed longer. A great location and wonderful staff in a super cool city. I hope I get to return in the future and an especial thanks to that mature traveler I met in Kiev, Dave from Texas who gave me the business card for the place.

I went to this hostel because it had a lot of good reviews and I couldn't find an AirBnb host in Medellín in time. The prices are good only $22 / night for the Ecuador private room or $8 / night for a shared room. Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Ecuador private room and it was a clean...

Fantastic hostel in Medellín. It was only $22/night for the fairly spacious Ecuador room, and the shared sleeping spaces upstairs for $8/night looked pretty nice, too! There are numerous events offered at the hostel such as free salsa lessons and language exchange nights, and the bar and TV area both looked lovely. One terrible thing, though, was the wifi. There...

Like many people I ended up staying longer at this hostel than I originally planned. It has a great staff, a very laid-back atmosphere and several different spaces to hang out peacefully or be social. The location is excellent and safe and I recommend staying here instead of some hostel in poblado, which is a nice neighbourhood but is essentially...

I stayed at the Wandering Paisa for about a month. It's in a great location, and perfect if you want something a little different from poblado. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the owner is quick to fix any issues that might come up. The bar is cheap, with lots of great events that give you an opportunity...

We chose this hostel for location, away from the main gringo area, and for that this was good. However, I think this hostel has been overrated on tripadvisor. We stayed in a 8 bed dorm, which was pretty cramped. The showers were ok, although there were not that many for the number of rooms and beds. The social areas were...

I think this hostel covers all your basic needs coming to Medellin as a backpacker. Great bar with good prices, clean, lots of big common areas, cool events like language exchange, open mic night or free salsa classes, and basic stuff like wifi, hot water, good kitchen facilities etc. are always available. The hostel is really well run, and if...
