I really enjoy staying at this hotel. It's the only hotel in town with balconies for relaxing while looking at the ocean or overlooking the pool. The hotel rooms are older, but they have all the modern amenities and cleanliness is clearly a top priority. The bedding is high quality and comfortable. There were about a half dozen clean white...

Fantastic location - just across the road from the boardwalk and a short walk to The Stone Pony. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and tried to help wherever they could (although I was slightly bemused that they could not tell us how/where to mail a postcard). The hotel itself desperately needs a refurb, the rooms are clean and...

The location is phenomenal! Right across from the board walk and beach. The staff is wonderfully delightful, helpful and knowledgeable especially about what is open in the offseason. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the entire hotel needs a refresh!! Rooms are very clean but they are not aging well. I also found it...

We had a blast, right across from the boardwalk, great Pool, good food and drinks. We had my 3 year old nephew with us, he thoroughly enjoyed the pool. And the for predominantly gay crowd enjoyed having him there! Not our first time here, but was with a child and could not have been better. Only draw back was getting...

My husband and I learned about the Empress hotel years ago when we were in search for a pet friendly hotel at the Jersey Shore, The Empress is definitely one of the few. From the first time we stayed we fell in love with the people, the service and the environment. We love Asbury Park so much that we recently...

Interesting mid-century hotel. Very diverse clientele, all types and sexual orientation - not an all gay hotel, but LGBT friendly. Great mix of friendly people. Mostly middle aged and lively group. Housekeeping was great and handled every little request. Our room was small but comfortable with tiny balcony. We faced the ocean, lots of street activity - delivery trucks all day...

We stayed there recently for the weekend so we could attend a concert. It was a nice, fairly clean hotel. Can definitely use some updating. First night was fine, but the club does go on until 2am and since it is such a small property, you can hear everything. We had our kids with us the second night, which I...

The location of the empress was perfect! Close to their downtown, and across the street from the ocean/ boardwalk. If you want a clean hotel, with big rooms, balconies in every room, a good time, and EXCELLENT service this is your jersey shore stop! Front desk Kristin Johnsen was amazing, she will help accommodate you making you feel like a...

I think the Empress is our favorite place. We love visiting Asbury Park, and the hotel is accessible to everything; Wonderbar (& yappy hour), restaurants on Cookman Avenue, The Stone Pony, and the beach. I think we walk almost everywhere in good weather. For a night cap, the night club is always lively. We've had a few different rooms on...

Hotel is amazing, great crowd and so much fun to be had here. Karaoke host is literally a whiny baby could not tolerate him, not sure how anyone could. Its a shame for such a great place they have found the worst person to host something that is supposed to be fun. It was a cryin shame !! Reception staff...
