We stayed one night at Cabo San Juan campsite and that was enough. The tent had a smelly grotty mattress in it and was too hot! The food at the camp restaurant was overpriced and really not very edible. There are only four toilets for hundreds of people and no toilet paper. The beaches are really nice in Tayrona but... More

We went to the campground at cabo san juan del giua. First we had to queue for almost an hour to get a tent. No more hammocks were available. The tent had very smelly matrasses and it was very hot. There are only 4 toilets for the wohle campground and the restaurant serves food which is not very good. Definitely... More

So it may be quite remote and there may be no roads but it is v busy here and they have you completely over a barrel with your balls in their hands in terms of food and accomm. Hammock/tents reasonable at $50,000 but good gets expensive and you have to queue up for ages. Nice to swim there. Make sure... More

Rented hammock. It gets cold. Bring sweater and blanket. Was impressed by food procedure getting so many people fed decent meals. If you are lucky they have secure lockers but bring the small lock. Near many beaches! La Piscina is just 20 min walk with snorkeling. I was impressed by general cleanliness but the bathrooms got gross by the next... More

Overall tayrona was worth a visit. The scenery is nice and the walk into el cabo was great. The camping accom is basic and the staff are fairly unhelpful to say the least. The beach is nice but it's not gleaming white sand, more of a pumice type feel The trek over to Poblito was a real highlight, the village... More

there are multiple options availables for back packers. from the cheapest camp to the expensive but safer and cleaner one: aviatur. this one is better for families and people wanting to rest, but if you are looking for adventure you can go to next one in Cabo San juan, 45 minutes walking.

Well worth staying for a night or two. Beaches are spectacular. No need to book accommodation, just turn up. There's no wifi here. - 20,000 COP minivan from my hotel in Tagnanga (one way) to tayrona national park entrance - 38,000 COP (approx) for entrance to the park (bring photo ID- I used a photocopy of my passport). Worth noting... More

I've been in tayrona 4 times now and still is one of the best beaches and places I've visited in my life, the hike to Cabo San Juan is tough but completely worth it, there is nothing fancy about the camp and the facilities are quite basic. My recommendation if you want more comfort stay at the arrecifes campings that... More
