Pretty much the only nice thing about this hotel is the pool and eaSy access to the beach.
However we walked to the beach after paying to spend the day at the hotel and nobody outside had anything to do with the hotel so we...More
Had to stay in Santa Marta for the weekend and someone told me about the Tamacahotel.
I think there are better boutique hotels in Santa Marta for the same price , or less . Lining was dirty and the service was rude .
I enjoy staying here and have stayed several times. Wifi is free and reliable. The beds are firm and the room is clean. The pool has recently been completely reconstructed and is less than a year old. I prefer to stay on the main site...More
Great location for a good prize. We stayed at the tower that is in the back for a better price but if you get the fifth floor you may get the ocean view. Breakfast is all you can eat and different local options every day....More

Overall, my wife and I felt very safe in Colombia, although I did have my wallet stolen on the bus in Bogota. Apparently this is a common problem even for locals. We also went to Cartegna and Santa Marta and had no problems whatsoever. The local people were really hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their country. The beach in front of the Tamaca Beach Resort hotel is very nice but I do not know if it is used for snorkelling. Have fun - Richard
