I spent one night mid week with my husband. With my players card I was given a complimentary upgrade to a mini suite. I asked the clerk to make sure it was a King bed. Got up to the room and it had 2 beds. Back down to the front desk and got new keys for another room which was a King. It was an OK room, but you can tell the room is dated. Plus the cleanliness was at issue because I found someone's empty water bottle behind the drapes when I closed them. There was also some paper wrappings on the desk left behind. There was a coffee pot and the makings for coffee, but no coffee cups. There were no cups in the bathroom. The next day I asked for an hour later check out and was told it was $20. I asked if it could be complimentary and was told everyone pays. I declined. I've never paid for a late check out in any other AC hotel, especially on a Thursday morning. All in all, they need to make some upgrades to rooms and beef up the housekeeping. Contrary to another post, I did not have to pay for WIFI. The casino, however is really nice. Very modern, new machines and I had a few wins.…
I’ve stayed at GN many times since it opened and was always happy with my stay. I’m also a big fan of their LV property. This is the first time I’ve come back to stay the weekend since 2019. This hotel seems a sad state of what it once was. Nothing has been updated in years and it shows. First on a Friday night there was zero security at the elevators Like there had been in years past. There is a $30 resort fee that doesn’t include the gym. I had to pay an additional $10 for that. My players card would not work at many of the machines. The hotel said their having issues with some of the machines but it seemed like every machine I tried it didn’t work. My husbands card also wouldn’t work at many machines. The rooms were clean but the pillows were horrible. Felt like they had been in the room since the hotel opened. The front staff was nice but that’s really all I can say. I understand AC has gone through hard times but as a frequent guest throughout the years I just can’t recommend this hotel to anyone. A few months ago I stayed in Ocean and I think that will be my go to hotel from now on.…
Your service will not work here so you have to use their wifi and they charge for it so no entertainment unless you pay for wifi after paying for your room so I wasn't comfortable and felt I didn't wanna give them my money just went to sleep and left and got a room at the hard Rock in the morning
At the Rush Lounge during the afternoon, a rude older Bartender ignored me for 8 minutes. While making my alcoholic beverage, he grabbed the lime with his ungloved hand and placed it in my alcoholic beverage lime. After making change, he threw the money on counter. He was sarcastic to to the other guest already sitting at bar. I had a great experience with the other Bartender but this one was awful.
Good morning/afternoon, I have been frequenting the Atlantic City Casino since I was in my 20's back In the 90s and I have seen my share of Security dealing with irate guests. But during my last trip to the Golden Nugget casino in August, there was one Security Supervisor, I believe his name was Dion. The way he carried himself and the professionalism he displayed was amazing. When the pit boss called security after this argumentative blackjack player yelled and screamed, Dion walked up to the blackjack table and asked the guy to come with him. After a minute, the guy apologized to everyone and left the casino with Dion. This is what we need. Dion was able to deescalate the situation without getting physical.
A card upgrade from a host pulled me over to this casino and I am so happy she did!! My check-in experience was amazing and I have to be honest my FIRST housekeeper is what made me keep coming back. Her name is Martha on the 21st floor. She made me feel so at home and I know others love her too. I heard other people/customers calling her name all day from inside my room. To be honest the $25 a day fee made me want to chose other places because it costs the same amount for me for 3 days at every other casino (having top cards). However, made it WELL worth it. View --------- The view on the bay side made me feel like I was no longer in Atlantic City. I never knew a view like that existed in Atlantic City. I was born and raised here. When I looked out the window. It was like I was in another country. Front Desk ---------------- So there is a front desk agent by the name of Marcel that made me feel so valued as a guest. He had only had one interaction with me once prior to my last visit. However, he remembered me and greeted me with a smile and a "welcome back." There is something about employees remembering you that makes your visit extra special. He took the time to answer all my questions and was completely patient. With his energetic disposition, he sealed the deal along with Martha to make me a repeat customer. I hope they are both managers because they do such an amazing job at providing more than exceptional customer service. Let me first share that I have been basically living in the casinos for the past two years. Golden Nugget is the ONLY casino that makes it VERY easy to add a day or change your reservation right at the front desk. That one little thing made me absolutely fall in love with them. Every other casino makes you wait until the next day but they make it sooo easy. VIP STATUS _________ I think this casino does show value to it's VIP guests. Even in Bingo Chairman has the ability to play with 3 different boards. You have access to the lounge. You earn cash back and there are lots of perks. The only thing I would love to change is the $25 a day. It might sound crazy but I would rather lose $75 at the slot machine than give it for a comped room. Some places don't charge a even a dollar for their top players and others only charge less than $8 a day. There are a lot of people that choose to stay other places just because of the fees. However, it's nice to know at times there are promotions where they won't charge anything and those are the days I gamble a lot harder. VIP LOUNGE ----- The food in the lounge is always of good quality. They actually have an ice cream machine! I just wish they had cones. The friendlies of the waiters/waitresses is a hit or miss but I do have favorites. The one thing thing I love is if you ask for a mimosa they give you a small bottle of champagne! That speaks volumes on how they value who you are as a guest. Slot Machines ----------------- I feel like they have a great variety but one of the most annoying things is the problem a lot of machines have reading your players card. I will not play if the machine I want is not reading my card. I do feel like it is easier to win here than compared to other casinos on the boardwalk. I only gamblesd a few times and already hit a jackpot over $2500+. Even if I lose my money, I don't lose it all in 5 minutes like other casinos. Food -------- They have a place that is open late!!!! Which is ANOTHER REASON I love staying here. A lot of casinos close their restaurants too early which makes people leave to eat and gamble somewhere else. Parking _________ There are so many handicapped parking spaces which I love. There are a lot of available spaces but it seems like half the garage is always blocked off. Guess what? The parking is ALWAYS free! The one thing I love is you can go straight from the garage to your room. There is only one other casino that you can do that. Rooms ______ If you have a high card you get a free suite upgrade! How cool is that? I haven't stayed in one before but I loved being able to check them out. They were very nice. The regular rooms are okay but to be honest they are kind of small but the view overshadows that by a mile. You can see all the boats in the water and it is like a show out of your window. I encourage you to give this place a chance. You'll love it! Thank you Martha and Marcel for treating me like I matter! I made more reservations!…
Great front desk, large room, decent view. Nice choices for food more so during restaurant week. Front hall huge, clean rugs, no one out of control at 3 am. Plus!!! Nice clean bathroom slot machines were spread out enoug too.
Rooms were great. Pool was the best with a dj and a view to die for. We could not win at the casino. It’s not on the boardwalk. Many of the restaurants were not open during the week. But they had a pizza stand that had excellent pizza. We would stay there again
Well, if you are cycling in Atlantic City, you’ll notice that Atlantic City now has this wide painted bike path on North Maryland Avenue that brings you almost directly to the Golden Nugget Casino from the boardwalk. Take the “S New Jersey Ave” exit from the boardwalk (just a bit past the Showboat – East on the boardwalk. Stay on New Jersey Ave and go left on Wabash Ave. Then, Maryland Ave is only 3 blocks away, go right. There is a nice bike path that will bring you very close to the Golden Nugget. The strange thing is that (according to the bell boy that we spoke with and I know that this may not represent the Casino’s policy) told us that we cannot leave our bicycles anywhere on the property to go in the casino. All bicycles will physically be removed. So, we ended up spending our money in different casinos. I find it strange that the City would invest in this nice bike path which seems to be a great way of inviting cyclists to the Golden Nugget but cyclists are just not welcome there.…
A real plus was that the staff we encountered was upbeat, attentive and friendly. Free parking was another plus. The hotel itself has some problems. There is a nostalgic type of dinginess that you will either appreciate or dislike. This includes the musty tobacco odor. The room itself was serviceable and a good size. However, the bathroom door would not close. There was some hair in the toilet. There were enough smudges on the mirrors to make me wonder just how well the room was cleaned. If you get a good price for the room, by all means take the deal. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
