We recently visited Opatija and stayed 1 night in this hotel. It is quite old and in need of renovation. Room smells of cigarette smoke. There is absolutely no water view from therooms. Hotel is located on a very busy and noisy street, you have to keep your windows closed if you want to sleep. They also have a outdoor...

"Beautiful hotel" Our room was very big, tastefully renovated with old furniture. The bathroom was big with a double sink. The absolute highlight was a huge private terrace with table and chairs under a canopy for shade and 2 lounge chairs facing the park with a glimpse of the sea. The breakfast buffet is ample with lots of tasty choices...

The room anf breakfast were very good. Nice style and spacious elegant room. A few minor flaws in the room included disfunctional showerhead clip and torn curtain. However, we had the feeling that the staff had seen one tourist too many.. not hard to see how this can happen in Opatija in the summer. Luckily the air conditioning worked, and...

We spent 3 nights at Hotel SV Jakov in Opatija as part of the Back-Roads Touring Co “Flavours of Northern Croatia & Slovenia” tour. It’s a beautiful old hotel and staff and facilities excellent. We had a lovely big room with a very comfortable bed. It’s ideally located in the heart of Opatija and everything is within walking distance. The...

The Sveti Jakov may not be a full five star hotel. That is arguable but doesn't matter too much. At any rate it is a very good four star hotel by international standards and it is very well located with wonderful views over the bay. The restaurant is very good, the buffet breakfast very recommendable. And: one can use the...

Excellent and quiet location, very kind staff both at the reception and restaurant, large and clean rooms, great view from the balconies on the southern façade, good breakfast, reasonable price. €8 for baby crib per day - this should be free of charge at this type of hotel!
