If you need a big screen TV, fancy soaps in the bathroom and thick fluffy towels, look elsewhere. But if you want an atmospheric little place frequented by Ecuadorians and don’t mind a little language struggle then book a room on the first floor with a balcony for an absurdly low 29 bucks a night. I stayed here a week. Sure I hit my head a few times in the cramped bathroom and waited 5 minutes for the hot water but you can’t beat the value for the money.
The AC worked great, clean sheets every two days and the location was fabulous to access Las Ninfas and Tortuga Beach. A small bakery is steps away with fresh hot morning rolls and decent real coffee. One block away is the Kiosks with a dozen eateries including breakfast for 7 bucks. I do wish the drinking water dispenser had been better attended to but there was a shop right down the block selling litre bottles for $1.50

We found this hotel on internet but for the price that we paid we could have found some better hotel to be honest and one of the rroms that we had seemed to be out of use for a while because we found some rat´s poop in the sink in the bathroom we understand this problems that the island goes through BUT we found some other better options in the port area but the only problem was that it was not that eassy to find them on internet.

We found the Hotel Crossman by chance while walking to Tortuga Bay. We found Hotel Crossman to be really lovely, with big comfortable beds, clean facilities, a nice atmosphere, lovely host and great value. We stayed here for five nights in a room with a balcony overlooking bougainvillea. The hotel is a block awat from the cheap restaurants in Charles Binford, and a short walk from Tortuga Bay. I wonder if the rooms may have been renovated since the previous reviews. The only drawbacks that we found were low pressure in the shower in the rooms upstairs. The breakfast was decent, but basic. We preferred to eat breakfast externally.

The hotel picked me up from the Itabaca Canal when I arrived at the airport for a price of $25. That is the same price if you find a taxi when you arrive. It is approximately a 35 minute drive in the taxi. Well situated in the town of Puerto Ayora, 5 minutes to the pier and loads of places to eat and book tours on the doorstep. The staff were very friendly and helpful but only Spanish was spoken which is the norm on the Islands. The room was kept clean and very spacious (I booked a twin room). However the bathroom was very small. There is a free water dispenser on all floors of the hotel. This is a budget hotel so if you are happy with that then I would recommend it.

The location is great, close to everything in Puerto Ayora. You can fill in your water bottle as they have free water, wifi is good in the common area, not so much in the rooms. little kitchen with essencials, hot running water, clean and quite place. The staff is super friendly and always ready to help with tips or recomendations. A low budget place that has all a traveler needs.

This is a really lovely, spacious, and comfortable place to stay. The bed was firm and comfy, and the internet was some of the fastest I experienced on all the inhabited islands in the Galapagos. The staff are super kind and sweet, and there are water stations readily available all over the hotel common spaces.

The staff at Hotel Crossman saved me from a really bad lodging situation very late at night. In the other place, I had seen a lot of creatures and growths you didn't want to see in a place you're sleeping. I left around 10:30 PM and couldn't find a place to stay. Someone from another hostel walked me around looking for acocmmodations, and we eventually found someone with Mayra's phone number. She came over super late and let me into a vacant room. The next day, they let me store my luggage there before I took the 3:00 PM ferry to Isabela.

If I could give them more than five stars, I would. I would have had a great stay there no matter what, but they really took care of me. I can't believe I've waited this long to write a review, and honestly if I could do my Santa Cruz stay again I would stay with them over and over again.

We stayed in room #3 on the 1st floor one night in July before we headed to a Galapagos cruise. It is the worse room we've ever stayed in anywhere.

We had trouble to open the door from inside which was a serious safety issue in the event of fire. The shower did not work. It gave you boiling hot water only. The mirror was hung so high that you could only see the part above your eye level. The window faced a garbage dump. The air condition was placed next to an open hole. So the hot air just came into the room directly. What a waste of energy. A part of door frame was missing. It reminded us a scene in a horrible movie. We ended up sleeping with our cloth on. We could not take shower. We just wanted the night to be over so we could get out there! The breakfast tasted weird. We did not eat.

Room #3 is NOT made as a guest room. It can only be a storage place but we paid $110 for the night. It is a very bad experience.

The rooms upstairs looked better but the water system was still a problem. I hope someone runs the business will pay some attention to the place. Otherwise this hotel will run down by itself.

It was more my home at Galapagos when I decided to move over there... I totally recommend this place for a nice staying. Quite relax place and the people is also nice... the administrator Jannina is really cool and always making sure u r having a good time there.... the dorms are comfy, clean and have all the services (hot water, A/C, TV Cable, WIFI, really comfy beds) couldnt ask for better while I stayed there. Its close to Tortuga Bay road and the upstairs room have a really nice view, the lobby whether downstairs and at the mezzanine is nice to chillax with other guests and locals.

Doesnt feel like u r in a hotel but like u r in a family place! At least thats how i felt over there and cant wait to go back there in a few days!!! Greetings Jannina!!! Good vibe Marina

The moment we entered the hostel we had bad feelings, which were only reinforced during the upcoming minutes. We were supposed to have breakfast in the hotel, but arrived from another island 15 minutes too late to get served, as they finished serving breakfast at 8 am. Staff did not even bother to lift from the table to speak to us. The room was not ready. I asked to use the toilet. It is a shared one, but with no washbasin - no chance to wash your hands. I peeked at one pf the rooms on ground floor - bunk beds etc. It looked to be housing 8-10 persons. The public areas - nothing like in the pictures. The refrigerator in the eating area is grotty and secured with a massive chain. The tables are tacky plastic ones - no sight of tablecloth. Everything looked seriously worn out and dirty. The meeting area in the pics shown with comfortable sofas and cushions in fact just feature all sorts of wooden, mixed tables and chairs. Furthermore - note the pics do not show any surroundings - just the building adorned with flowers. You will find a noisy school just accross the street, and the rest of the neighbourhood is simply dismaying...We were offered a room that was very dark - no window, but with water leaking through the ceiling in several places, plaster falling off the ceiling, strong smell of mustiness spreading accross. We passed on this one. Our recommendation is - stay away.

Had to find this hostel last minute as our original plan fell through, and I'm glad we did. The owner was so kind and helpful and offered my group of 12 our own beds because she had extra availability. The location is great, just a short walk to the port and the main street for restaurants. Rooms had AC and super comfortable beds, and free drinking water was offered downstairs. Would 100% stay again.
