We had the BEST say at Pikaia lodge, and couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The views are incredible and every inch of the hotel is extremely beautiful! You won't want to miss the spa / jacuzzi views either. The staff was INCREDIBLE. Christopher makes sure to get everything done perfectly, and the staff was very flexible with any adjustments that needed to be made. The restaurant dinner is also fantastic! Make sure to get the dinner rolls! Thank you Pikaia for such a wonderful stay! Our family will be forever grateful for the memories! -The Kanoffs
We stayed at Pikaia Lodge at the very beginning of this year 2021 and enjoyed a magnificent experience : the place and its location are truly fantastic in the heart of Isla Santa Cruz, magnificently designed and arranged, perfectly served by a great team lead by Norman Brandt, including among many other great people, Chef Christian Puente who organized on our first evening a memorable and exclusive under-the-ecuadorian-stars tasting-menu diner that will stay with us as a great local culinary experience! Our room was just perfect, as were the infinity pool, the spa and the bar, all on top of a volcanic crater with a breathtaking view point. The overall experience was terrific and I highly recommend this place
While, like many, I've not been able to travel much in 2020 , when I dream of going back out to see the world, this is the place I return to. The spectacular views, the lovely pool, the incredible staff and guides, the cruise across to the islands, and of course, the Galapagos themselves. Seeing the tortoises just wandering about the property, and spotting a million finches right out the window of the most comfortable rooms? Nothing else like it on earth.
We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were very nicely presented with great views, comfortable beds, very good bath and shower rooms although the water pressure in the shower could have been better. The tours offered were good, although the drive to and fro was a bit tiresome. The thing that let it down for me was the menu. The lunch menu was always the same, quite a bit of choice but sometimes what you chose was not available. The dinner menu was very limited and there were apparently 3 menus which changed every other day. So if you had a problem finding something you wanted one day the next day was impossible. The food was good but I don’t think the choice was adequate for this standard of hotel. The staff were professional and helpful.
Excellent way to see the Galapagos! Pikaia used to be a cruise ship, and a few years ago they agreed to give up their cruise ship license to have a land lodge instead. They still have the ship however, so when you go out for day trips, you get your own state room. They take you all over the islands for snorkeling and short walks to see the flora and fauna. The only drawback is that it takes about an hour drive to get to the water each day. Back at the lodge, they have beautiful facilities and are very accommodating in terms of food. Great for active people of all ages!
