My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Hostal Coloma. We stayed for 4 nights in June/21. The location is an easy 5 - 7 minute walk from the main pier. We received a warm reception from the owner upon check-in. The rooms are clean and standard sized, though do include a small kitchenette (sink, microwave, bar fridge). The shower water is warm (which seems to be not entirely common here). The breakfasts were fantastic - something a little different each day, with rotating fresh juice. There’s a wonderful little common space for guests to relax after a long day, with soda and beer available for purchase. We really enjoyed our stay, and will book again if we’re ever back in Puerto Ayora.

I stayed here for 8 nights as part of a dive package with Academy Bay divers and then an extra 2 nights once my package had finished.
This place is a gem. Quirky decor, spotlessly clean rooms and friendly hotel staff is all you can ask for when traveling to the other side of the world for 3 weeks during a global pandemic! It’s great location, sufficient breakfast and cool decoration made for a delightful stay.
My only initial complaint was that the WiFi was very unreliable. However, I soon learnt that this was the case all over the Galapagos due to the infrastructure.
All in all I have no complaints. Would definitely stay here again!

We liked everything about this hotel. The owner and staff went out of their way to help out and were extremely friendly. The hotel had all kinds of nice artwork and sculptures throughout the building. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the room was rather large. The breakfast was always delicious and was something different everyday. The location was only 750 meters on a main street from the main pier so it made it easy to walk the hotel even with luggage in less than 10 minutes.

I was so glad we booked our stay at Coloma. The hotel manager, Ximena, was very welcoming and helpful during our stay in the Galapagos. She even decorated our room with flowers, a card, and chocolates when I told her we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. They sent a taxi for us when we arrived from the airport, which made figuring out transportation much easier. Our flight was delayed, and she was quick to respond to adjust the time of the taxi arrival. This hotel stood out among others because of its beautiful design and unique details. Breakfast was also amazing. The cook, Alexandra, made us a very generous serving of breakfast each morning with fresh fruit and juices, eggs, and a bread item. The kindness of Ximena and Alexandra made it feel more like staying with friends/relatives than staying at a hotel. The location was also perfect for walking to the different sites.

We had a wonderful stay over the Christmas period. The staff are all fantastic, a big thank you to Alexandra and Valentina who looked after us. Breakfast is served upstairs with fruit, yogurt, muesli and either an omelette, pancake or scrambled eggs. There is plenty of it and good quality. The rooms are clean and comfortable and serviced each day. Location wise the hotel is a short wander from the wharf and the main eating/shopping areas. We would highly recommend the Hotel Coloma as a place to stay. We did a couple of tours while in the Galapagos, the Darwin centre is fascinating what they are doing to repopulate the Giant Tortoises is fantastic. We also did a day trip to Isabella and to the lava caves with Aranatha GPS Travel. Both were well organised with friendly helpful tour guides, swimming with the sea turtles was a major highlight. We ate at several different places, The Rock and El Muelle de Darwin near the Darwin Centre. We did have one bad experience with a tour company and would recommend avoiding Mariano Trivino at Galapagos Destination (a wooden thatch style shop) he did a great sales job but unfortunately that is where the great stopped. We were initially forgotten and after calling several times were picked up an hour late. We were then taken on the completely wrong tour. His prices are much higher than others we looked at after the fact. This was the only bad experience we had in the whole trip. Overall a fantastic holiday everything we could have hoped for.

Fabulous small hotel, just 5 minutes walk to the dock. There are only a dozen rooms in this hotel. This is a family run hotel and the pride shows. Everyone is always working, cleaning, making breakfast (included in price), etc. Please is very clean with a small pool, play area for children, kitchen/restaurant on 3rd floor, A/C, free/filtered water, and a self serve soda/beer bar (keep your own tab to pay later). The ground level has an enclosed type court yard and plenty of chairs/tables right out your door. Decor of the hotel is made up of lava rock, wood, rock, and other reusable material. There are many murals with wildlife themes. Good use of plants around the inside of the court yard. They did help with calling the tour operator for us (as they were a bit late to pick us up one day). We met the owners and staff and they always had a smile. Only thing different is that you need a key to lock the door from the INSIDE (while you occupy the room) and a few roosters next door that can/will get you up a bit early. Great Value. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We traveled to 45 countries but have enjoyed our time in the Galápagos most of all. The hostal is only 2 blocks from the cities restaurants and ferries. The location could not be better. Every single detail was attended to by the husband and wife team. The rooms are very large and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is serve by a local woman who is an outstanding cook! Fresh vegetables and herbs are growing everywhere on the property. In fact, the guests outdoor seating area is under a grape arbor.
The owners not only live onsite but the husband has a dental office next door... which came in handy for us when our daughter had a “tooth emergency”. We will be back!!!

Nice place with fantastic service from both Ericka and Filadelfia. They gave great recommendations. They also booked us ferries and tours at the last minute - and got us better than advertised rates on the tours. They accompanied us places to make sure we got where we were going. Great experience!

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel. Staff was great. The only thing missing was a lil fridge for a cold drink. But they do have a fridge with refreshments for sale on the common areas. They provide a delicious free breakfast or a lunch box if you need a snack for the road. Hotel is very accommodating to your needs. Water pressure for a shower is great and having warm water is a plus. Unfortunately Wifi is not existent we were out of range for the 2 options available. However, is a know issue internet in the island so that was not a big issue for us. I would recommend this hotel to any family or friends.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Coloma Galapagos. The room was exceptionally spacious, providing ample room to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. Its central location made it convenient to explore the town, and it offered excellent value for the money.
What set this hotel apart for us was its unique decor. Instead of the usual generic hotel art, the walls were adorned with captivating animal portraits, which added to the charm of the place.
Moreover, the receptionist went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Her helpfulness and local insights were invaluable.
Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Coloma Galapagos for its spacious rooms, central location, distinctive decor, and exceptional service. It's truly a gem in Puerto Ayora.
