I spent 3 nights at St. Catherine's Monastery Guesthouse in March 2017. This was part of a pilgrimage time in Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and Egypt. This is a pilgrim's guesthouse -- so it is decent but spartan. The rooms are clean and decent. The bed was satisfactory. Bathroom was fine. Water hot (but don't drink from the taps in Sinai.)

This is one of those places I have long had in mi list. True it's a bit out of the beaten path, but well worth the visit. I got there by taxi from Dahab, for a three day stay, on my way to Jordan, (via Nuweiba-ferry-Aqaba) Suddenly after passing a small town, a tight valley opens, and dwarfed by the...

There are few places to stay in St Catherine's. There's a hostel. We stayed in the Monastery Guesthouse. Rooms are adequate - heat, water, shower, beds all okay. Food is terrible, set out in an unheated cavernous room. Food barely adequate (I swear that exact same (literally, same shreds of cabbage)) small chopped cabbage/tomato(?)/cuc(?) salad was on the pre-set plate...

Very simple place and very cold. Hardly used the bed because by midnight we were up for the climb up Mt Sinai. Dinner and breakfast were okay. Lots of vendors selling mountain climbing gear. Mt Sinai is the climbing experience of a lifetime. Take a camel, your reach faster and les tired. Lovely sunrise coming down.

I have stayed here on 5 occasions and loved each one. A number of the staff are Italian and they make a half decent bottle of red wine. The breakfast is basic Italian / European but the rooms and the bathrooms are reasonable and each room has a good airconditioner. The beds are a bit firm (I have a bad...

The monastery is Greek Orthodox. The guesthouse is clean, but bare bones. Meals are part of the package but if you don't speak Greek, you won't know when meals are taking place and even if you do, you won't be helped navigating the serving lines. No one speaks English and there are few interpretive options. There are Bedouin who historically...

Theres not many option for where to stay on the mt. Sinai. This monastry is the closest to the mountain. The hotel should be rated 1 or 2 stars. The room is okay. The bathroom is small and simple. The swim pool is dirty..dont swim there. But the location is nice. Its in the middle of wilderness and rocky mountain...

Set near the iconic Mt. Sinai and adjacent to the monastery, the guesthouse has a bit of a monopoly. Thankfully it provided good value for the money and offered the chance to see the monastery grounds without the tour bus loads of tourists. The room was clean with AC/heater and individual water heater. The bed was comfortable but nothing spectacular....

Basic and clean rooms with AC, clean toilet and a mountain view Basic dinner and breakfast included in the price This guest house has well stocked cafeteria with wine and beer Wonderful location attached to monastery in a very quiet atmosphere Resonable prices Do not expect any extra services from this B&B like wifi, a la carte restaurant, English speaking...

Beautiful location which can't really be beaten. Great staff and well-stocked cafeteria which so far seems to be the only place in the village where you can get a decent coffee. Also sells local beer and wine at reasonable prices. The food is acceptable but seems to be a bit lacking in imagination which is a shame considering all the...
