We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and peaceful resort and were very sorry to leave, only a week ago! We stayed for 9 nights and still had not seen everything this wonderful island of Taveuni has to offer. The resort is very comfortable, beautifully presented and well run. The people are all friendly and helpful. We loved the...

In a word, paradise. My better half had the foresight to allow this family run resort and dive shop handle just about everything for us during our 8 day stay. Fair warning, prepare yourself for a rant, because we have some strong feelings about this establishment. In fact, I am typing this from the airport as we return home. From...

There is something very special about Nakia. The stunning views over the Somosomo Strait set the scene for a great visit. However, it is the incredibly welcoming hosts and staff that set this place apart. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were so good with our 1.5 year old. The food was diverse and delicious - incredibly fresh...

I normally don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to write my first one on TripAdvisor to tell our wonderful hosts of Robin, Jim, Julie and Aaron how much we enjoyed our stay during August 4-8, 2011. I cannot say enough about the incredibly warm hospitality offered by the hosts and every one of their Fijian support staff. From the...

Where to start? I guess that family-owned means something very important when that family is a set of four perfectionists who get along beautifully. Robin ("I love being a Mom") and Jim (like a shark; he never stops moving and doing) join the ever-smiling daughter Julie and her warm and fun partner Aaron in running this Swiss watch of a...

Nakia is a little gem amongst resorts in Fiji. It is the most unpretentious, welcoming, friendly and relaxing resort we have ever been to. The entire staff and the owners did everything possible to make it a most enjoyable stay. If we could we would go there every year! With its maximum of only 10 guests at a time it...

Absolutely great experience! The food and service were wonderful. I loved the intimate atmosphere. I would definitely return to this family-owned resort. Diving the soft coral reefs off Taveuni, hands down, is my favorite dive of all time. Aaron was a very knowledgeable and fun dive master. I stayed in the Somosomo Bure.... all I can say is GORGEOUS! We...

The best vacation ever! Stayed for a week from July 16th-23rd. After reading all the great reviews about Nakia, I was wondering how it could live up to all the hype and accolades. Well, it more than surpassed all my expectations. The entire Nakia family and staff were so friendly and accommodating. They really made you feel like part of...

Where to start? Our little family of two kids under three just loved our stay at Nakia. There are just four bures, making it a very intimate experience and yet they're all spread out across this gorgeous property so you never feel like you're under your neighbours' feet. The bures are situated on sloping grassy 'meadows' (as our daughter took...

We could not stay away. Nakia draws you back. Our second time around beat out the first time by stellar proportions. Returning to Nakia gives you the added bonus of additional adventures missed the first time around because there just wasn’t enough time to experience it all. The stress of the outside world melts away. As beautiful as ever, it...
